Beth Huntington was a New Zealand netball player who represented her country on 13 occasions.

Netball career

Beth Mavis Huntingdon (née Carnie) was born on 15 July 1945. She made her debut for the Silver Ferns, the New Zealand national netball team, on 15 October 1974 against Singapore, en route to a tour of England, where New Zealand remained unbeaten. Playing as a goal shoot (GS), she was known for her idiosyncratic shooting style. In 1975 she was selected for the Silver Ferns team to take part in the world championships, which were held in Auckland, New Zealand, with New Zealand finishing in third place. [1] [2]

After retiring from playing Huntington continued her involvement with netball as a coach and was made a Life Member of Northern Suburbs Netball in Wellington. [3] [4]

Katrina Rore is a New Zealand international netball player. Rore is the current vice-captain of the New Zealand national netball team, the Silver Ferns, and plays for the Central Pulse in the ANZ Championship. Rore signed to the New South Wales swifts in the suncorp super netball league in the latter half of the 2018–2019 season following the netball World Cup.

Margharet Matenga Cook Islands netball player, coach and administrator

Margharet Norma Matenga is a former Cook Islands netball player, coach and administrator. She played for both the New Zealand national netball team and Cook Islands national netball team and was the first Pacific Islander to play for the Silver Ferns. She is the daughter of Cook Islands MP Teanua Kamana.

Tiana Metuarau is a New Zealand netball player of Cook Island, Tahitian and Māori descent. She plays in goal and first played for the national team, the Silver Ferns, in September 2021.

Taini Maremare Jamison is a former New Zealand netball coach and administrator. She coached the New Zealand national team to its first world title at the 1967 World Netball Championships. The Taini Jamison Trophy, contested between New Zealand and visiting international teams other than Australia, is named in her honour.

Millie Munro is a former netball player for the Silver Ferns, the New Zealand national netball team, who played for her country on 41 occasions, including at the 1975 and 1979 world championships.

Frances Granger was a New Zealand netball player who played 12 times for her country in the Goal attack and Goal shooter positions. She went on to coach the game in places as diverse as Botswana, Fiji and Wales, as well as in New Zealand.

Leilani Read New Zealand and Samoa netball player


Leilani Read (1973—1999) was a netball player who played nine times for the New Zealand national netball team and also for the Samoa national netball team. Read suffered from a rare blood disorder and died from a brain haemorrhage at the age of 25.

Monica Falkner is a netball player from New Zealand. As of the end of 2021, she had represented the New Zealand national netball team on three occasions.

Sandra Richards New Zealand netball player

Sandra Richards (1949—2005) was a netball player from the Christchurch area of New Zealand's South Island, who played on four occasions for New Zealand, winning a silver medal in the 1971 world championships.
