Betts Cove is a settlement in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Betts Cove is now deserted. It was once a mining center with a peak population of 2000. It had a hospital, school and three churches. Around the 1870s copper ore was mined, crushed and partially smelted. The ore was then transported by tram railways over the cliffs to boats. The ore was shipped to Swansea in Wales for final smelting. By 1884 the ore began to run out and people left. No buildings remain.

A bloomery is a type of metallurgical furnace once used widely for smelting iron from its oxides. The bloomery was the earliest form of smelter capable of smelting iron. Bloomeries produce a porous mass of iron and slag called a bloom. The mix of slag and iron in the bloom, termed sponge iron, is usually consolidated and further forged into wrought iron. Blast furnaces, which produce pig iron, have largely superseded bloomeries.

A source of gold, copper, and zinc ores, Tilt Cove was the site of the first mine in Newfoundland. The Tilt Cove mine opened in 1864 and "was soon employing several hundred men at good wages". Postal service was established in 1869.
Triton is a town that lies on Big Triton Island just off the coast of northeastern Newfoundland, in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Triton is the economic center of Green Bay South. According to Statistics Canada, Triton's population fell from 983 in 2016 to 896 in 2021. The town of Triton has grown more with new businesses and buildings opening in 2017. Triton also has a state of the art swimming pool, skatepark and a small basketball court, there are trailer campsites nearby too.
