Meerut is a city in Meerut district of the western part of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The city lies 80 km (50 mi) northeast of the national capital New Delhi, within the National Capital Region and 480 km (300 mi) west of the state capital Lucknow.

Greater Noida is a planned city located in the Gautam Buddha Nagar district of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The city was created as an extension of the area under the UP Industrial Area Development Act, of 1976. Situated 30 km (19 mi) southeast of the capital city of New Delhi, it takes around 30 minutes to travel between the cities via the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway. The city is administered by the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA). It is part of Meerut Division in Uttar Pradesh.
Praveenkumar Sakat Singh is a former Indian cricketer who bowled right-arm medium-pace. In first-class cricket, he played for Uttar Pradesh cricket team. He relied on his ability to swing the ball both ways along with line and length. In October 2018, he announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. He was a part of the Indian squad which won the 2010 Asia Cup.
Sudeep Tyagi is an Indian former international cricketer. He is a right arm fast-medium bowler and a right-handed lower order batsman. In first class cricket, he plays for Uttar Pradesh. In the Indian Premier League, he represented Chennai Super Kings. In November 2020, Tyagi announced his retirement from all forms of cricket.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar Singh, often known as Bhuvi, also regarded as “Swing King” and “Swing Sulthan” is an Indian international cricketer who played for the Indian cricket team from 2012 to 2022. He currently plays for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League and Uttar Pradesh in domestic cricket. Kumar swings the ball both ways efficiently, with his inswingers more effective than outswing. Initially starting his career as an opening swing bowler, Bhuvneshwar Kumar upgraded his bowling armoury with reverse swing, slower balls and Yorkers to become a death over specialist. With India, Kumar won the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy. He became the first bowler to win a purple cap of IPL in two consecutive seasons.
Sunrisers Hyderabad are a professional franchise cricket team based in Hyderabad, Telangana, India, that plays in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The franchise is owned by Kalanithi Maran of the SUN Group and was founded in 2012 after the Hyderabad-based Deccan Chargers were terminated by the IPL. The ground was also host 1977/78 Ranji Trophy finals featuring Uttar Pradesh cricket team and Karnataka cricket team.
Kamla Club Ground is a multi purpose stadium in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The ground is mainly used for organizing matches of cricket matches and is home of Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association Academy which was established in 1999/00. The stadium has hosted nine first-class matches in 1987 when North Zone cricket team played against South Zone cricket team. The ground hosted eight more first-class matches from 1988 to 2007. The stadium also hosted nine List A matches when Railways cricket team played against Madhya Pradesh cricket team but since then the stadium has hosted non-first-class matches.

The 2019–20 Ranji Trophy was the 86th season of the Ranji Trophy, the first-class cricket tournament that took place in India. It was contested by 38 teams, divided into four groups, with nine teams in Group B. The group stage ran from 9 December 2019 to 15 February 2020. The top five teams across Group A and Group B progressed to the quarter-finals of the competition.
The 2021–22 Ranji Trophy was the 87th season of the Ranji Trophy, the premier first-class cricket tournament in India. The tournament was split into two phases, with the league stage being played from 17 February to 15 March 2022, and the knockout phase played from 6 to 26 June 2022. Due to the delayed start of the tournament because of the COVID-19 pandemic, teams were split into eight Elite groups, instead of five as per previous editions, and the Plate Group. The seven teams that won their Elite Group with the best points progressed to the knockout phase. They were joined by the winner of the pre-quarter-final match between the Elite Group winning team with the fewest points and the winner of the Plate Group.
The 2023 UP T20 League was the inaugural edition of the UP T20, a franchise Twenty20 cricket league in Uttar Pradesh, India.The league was organised by the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association in 2023. The tournament was played between 27 August to 16 September 2023.
