Vizianagaram district is one of the eleven districts in the Coastal Andhra region of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh with its headquarters located at Vizianagaram. The district is bounded on the east by the district of Srikakulam, southwest by the City of Bheemunipatnam, southeast by the Bay of Bengal, and northwest by the state of Odisha. It was formed on 1 June 1979, with some parts carved from the neighbouring districts of Srikakulam and Visakhapatnam. The district is named after the princely state of Vizianagaram. It is the least populous district in Andhra Pradesh.

NTR district is a district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. The administrative headquarters is located at Vijayawada. Named after former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N. T. Rama Rao, it was proposed on 26 January 2022 and became one of the twenty-six districts in the state after the gazette notification was issued by the Government of Andhra Pradesh on 3 April 2022. The gazette notification came into force on 4 April 2022. It would be composed of the existing Vijayawada revenue division along with Nandigama and Tiruvuru revenue divisions, which are proposed to be formed along with the district. The entire geographical area of the district would be carved out of Krishna district.
