History

Railway line

Rajbari to Faridpur line was built in 1899. Nine railway stations situated in the railway line were closed on 16 September 1990. The railway line from Pachuria to Faridpur was closed by government on 26 March 1996. But that was not the first time the line was closed. It was stopped before 6 years of the second direction of closure. In 2013, Sheikh Hasina, prime minister of Bangladesh, ordered the reconstruction of the railway line. [1] The Faridpur–Bhanga part of the Pachuria–Bhanga line was completed in 2019. [2] [3]

Station

Bhanga railway station was inaugurated and opened on 24 January 2020 by Md. Nurul Islam Sujon, railway minister of the country. [4]

Bangladesh Television Chattogram or Bangladesh Television Chittagong, branded on-air as BTV Chittagong or BTV Chattogram, sometimes known as CTV, is a BTV-affiliated television station broadcast from Chittagong, serving southeastern Bangladesh. It is the network's first and currently the only regional television station. It was launched in 1996 and initially broadcast for one and a half hour, but the broadcast schedule significantly increased over time. It broadcasts on a full-day basis daily on both terrestrial and satellite television. BTV Chittagong started broadcasting on satellite television in 2016. The Habiganj Bazar–Shaistaganj–Balla line is a railway line connecting Akhaura and Chhatak, via Kulaura in Bangladesh. This line is under the jurisdiction of Bangladesh Railway. Shaistaganj Junction railway station is a junction station situated in Shayestaganj Upazila of Habiganj District in Bangladesh. It was opened in 1903 on Akhaura–Kulaura–Chhatak line. Then it became a junction station when Habiganj Bazar–Shaistaganj–Balla line railway was opened in 1928–29. But later in 2003, that line was abandoned as is closed in an unannounced manner and in 2005, the Habiganj Bazar–Shaistaganj line was taken off.

Bhanga Junction Railway Station is a junction station of Bangladesh. It is a junction which is being built in Bhanga. It will connect Dhaka with Jessore, Rajbari and Port of Payra through Padma Bridge. Its construction is likely to be end in June 2023.

Dhaka–Jessore line is a 172 km long under construction broad gauge railway. It is being constructed under the Ministry of Railways, Government of Bangladesh. The line will connect the capital of Bangladesh to Jessore via Dhaka District, Narayanganj District, Munshiganj District, Shariatpur District, Madaripur District, Faridpur District, Gopalganj District, Bangladesh, and Narail District. It is a project related to Padma Bridge.
