Bheramara Municipality

Bheramara Municipality is the administrative capital of Bheramara Upazila. [1] It has nine wars and 15 mahalas covering 3.26 Square kilometer. [2] It has a population of 22,124. [2]

On 2 March 2007, Bheramara Municipality mayor and brother of member of parliament Shahidul Islam, Touhidul Isam Alam, was detained as part of a crackdown on corruption. [3] Seven cases were filed against the mayor. [4]

During Bheramara Municipality elections in 2021, SM Tanvir Arafat, Superintendent of Police of Kushtia District, misbehaved with Judicial Magistrate Mohsin Hasan for which he was summoned by Bangladesh High Court. [5] Hasan had filed a complaint against Arafat over the incident alleging violation of the Local Government Election Rules, 2010. [5] The District police briefly detained Presiding Officer Shahjahan Ali who was a witness to the incident. [6] Arafat apologized to the High Court Division bench of Justice Khizir Hayat and Justice Mamnoon Rahman for his behavior after answering his summons. [7] [8]

Ruhul Quddus Talukder "Dulu" is a Bangladeshi politician, lawyer, former deputy minister, and member of parliament representing the Natore-2 constituency. He is the organising secretary of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). Dulu was born in Natore Sadar Upazila, Natore District. He was a regular practitioner lawyer. Along with his legal career, he was also active in politics. In 1977, he joined the BNP's student organisation, Chhatra Dal.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Executive Magistrate of Bangladesh</span>

The Executive Magistrates are the magistrates of the executive organ of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. The members of the Bangladesh Civil Service (Administration) also known as Bangladesh Administrative Service are appointed as the Executive Magistrates. These officials wield extensive executive and limited judicial powers within their respective jurisdiction. During periods of national emergency, they assume leadership roles at the forefront of governance. National Coordination Committee Against Corruption and Crime was a short-lived Bangladesh government agency responsible for investigating corruption and crime. It was formed by the Fakhruddin Ahmed led Caretaker government during the 2006–2008 Bangladeshi political crisis and was led by Bangladesh Army officers.
