The Indigenous Nationalist Party of Twipra was a political party in the Indian state of Tripura. Bijoy Kumar Hrangkhawl was the president of the party. It merged with the Tipraha Indigenous Progressive Alliance (TIPRA) party on 11 June 2021.
Vijaya Raje Scindia,known popularly as the Rajmata Scindia,was an Indian politician and consort of the last ruling Maharaja of Gwalior,Jiwajirao Scindia,in British Raj. The Tripuri are a Tibeto-Burman-speaking ethnic group of Bangladesh and Northeast Indian state of Tripura. They are the descendants of the inhabitants of the Twipra/Tripura Kingdom in North-East India and Bangladesh. The Tripuri people through the Manikya dynasty ruled the Kingdom of Tripura for over 600 years starting from 1400 A.D. until the kingdom joined the Indian Union on 15 October 1949. The Tipra Dynasty was established in 590 AD.

Debbarma is the main clan of Tripuri community,predominantly in state of Tripura,India and Bangladesh who speak Kokborok,a Tibeto-Burman language.

Pratima Bhoumik is an Indian politician. She served as the Minister of State in the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment in the Second Modi ministry from 7 July 2021 to 11 June 2024. She is the first-ever resident from Tripura to become a minister in the union cabinet. In 2019,she was elected to the Lok Sabha from the Tripura West as a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party having defeated sitting MP and Communist Party of India (Marxist) candidate Sankar Prasad Datta and Congress candidate Subal Bhowmick by a huge margin. She was also elected to the Tripura Legislative Assembly in 2023 from the Dhanpur Assembly constituency,but resigned from the position only a few days later to retain her Lok Sabha membership and ministerial berth. Since 2016,she has also been a State General Secretary of the BJP Tripura unit.
The Tipra Motha Party (TMP),also known as the Tipraha Indigenous Progressive Regional Alliance,is a regional political party and previously a social organisation in Tripura,India. The TIPRA is led by Pradyot Bikram Manikya Deb Barma. It is currently the second largest party in Tripura Legislative Assembly.
