Bill 92, known as An Act to extend the powers of the Régie de l’assurance maladie du Québec, regulate commercial practices relating to prescription drugs and protect access to voluntary termination of pregnancy services [note 1] is an act of the National Assembly of Quebec relating to the restriction on the purchasing of medication and the legal protection of access to abortion.
By 2015, abortion clinics in Montreal had obtained an injunction against abortion protests for the third time. [1]
The provisions relating to restrictions on protests relating to abortion are modelled on the Access to Abortion Services Act of British Columbia. [2]
The Act respecting prescription drug insurance is amended to prohibit manufacturers from providing financial assistance for medication covered by the basic prescription drug insurance plan, except as permitted by regulation. [3]
The legislation bans protests and other intervention with the intention to deter individuals from obtaining an abortion within 50 metres of the grounds of an abortion facility. [4]
A similar law was passed to ban anti-vaccine protests outside schools during the COVID-19 pandemic. [5]
