Bill Shapiro

Bill Shapiro is an American writer and editor. He is best known for serving as the editor of LIFE magazine, [1] and as the founding editor of LIFE.com. [2]

LIFE magazine had not been published as a weekly for 32 years until Shapiro revived it in 2004. It resumed publication as a weekend supplement to U.S. newspapers. [3] This was the biggest launch in Time Inc. history, [4] [5] with a combined circulation of approximately 12 million. [6]

LIFE.com was launched on March 31, 2009, in partnership with Getty Images. [7] It won the National Magazine Award for digital photography in 2011, [8] and Webby Awards in 2010 [9] and 2011. [10]

Shapiro collaborated with The Rolling Stones’ guitarist Keith Richards on a children's book called Gus & Me, which was published in 2014, [11] [12] and reached No.2 on The New York Times Best Seller list for children's books. [13] His previous book, Other People’s Love Letters, was published in 2007. [14] [15]

He graduated from Wesleyan University. [16]

Chip Giller is an American journalist and environmentalist. He is best known as the founder of Grist, an online environmental news organization. Giller has won numerous awards for his media innovations and environmental work, including receiving a Heinz Award, and being named a “Hero of the Environment” by TIME Magazine. He has been featured in media outlets like Vanity Fair, Newsweek, and Outside, and has participated as a guest on broadcast programs including NBC’s Today and PBS’s NOW.

Lucian Piane

Lucian Piane, also known by the Internet nickname RevoLucian, is an American composer and music producer. He has composed music for several films, television shows, theater productions and singers, and received a Recording Industry Association of America Platinum Album Award for his production work on Hairspray: Soundtrack to the Motion Picture. Piane has also achieved Internet fame under the name RevoLucian for his satirical techno remixes, most notably "Bale Out", which featured profanity-laced tirades from actor Christian Bale made on the set of Terminator Salvation.

Sonicsgate: Requiem for a Team is a 2009 documentary film chronicling the history of the Seattle SuperSonics. The SuperSonics were a professional basketball franchise based in Seattle, Washington, that was a member of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The Sonics played from 1967 until 2008, but relocated from Seattle to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and were renamed as the Thunder. 

1000 Awesome Things is a blog written by Neil Pasricha, who posts one thing in life he considers awesome each weekday. The site was launched on June 20, 2008 with #1000 Broccoflower and is counting down until it hits #1. An awesome thing is posted every weekday and #1 was posted on April 19, 2012.

Mark Shapiro (media executive) American television and media executive

Mark Shapiro is an American television and media executive. In 2018, he was promoted to become the President of Endeavor after working as the co-president of WME-IMG since 2016. He was Executive Vice President for Programming and Production at ESPN until 2005, before becoming CEO and President of Six Flags, Inc.. Shapiro has also been the CEO and Executive Producer of Dick Clark Productions.

Neil Pasricha Canadian author, entrepreneur, podcaster

Neil Pasricha is a Canadian author, entrepreneur, podcaster, and public speaker characterized by his advocacy of positivity and simple pleasures. He is best known for his The Book of Awesome series, and "The Happiness Equation" which are international bestsellers. He is also an established speaker and his TEDx talk, "The 3 A's of Awesome", is ranked as the ninth most inspiring TEDx talk with over 3 million views to date. In total, he has sold over 1 million books. The book and TED talk are based on Pasricha's blog, 1000 Awesome Things. The blog has won three Webby Awards and ranked in PC Magazines list of top blogs and websites in 2009 and 2010.

Diário Económico was a print Portuguese business newspaper based in Lisbon, Portugal. On 18 March 2016, the paper published the last print edition and went on online.

The 18th annual Webby Awards for 2014 was held at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City on May 19, 2014, which was hosted by comedian and actor Patton Oswalt. The awards ceremony was streamed live at the Webby Awards website.

The 23rd annual Webby Awards were held at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City on May 13, 2019, and hosted by actress Jenny Slate. The Webby Awards have been dubbed the "internet's highest honor".
