William Forbes was a Scottish professional footballer who played in the English Football League for Plymouth Argyle in the 1920s. [1] He played as a right back. [2]
Forbes was born in Denny, which was then in Stirlingshire, and played for the local club, Denny Hibernian, [1] before coming to England in 1911 to play for Plymouth Argyle, then a Southern League club. He made 250 appearances for the club in all competitions either side of the First World War. [2] Forbes played in Argyle's first game in the Football League, as the Southern League Division One clubs were absorbed to form the Football League Third Division for the 1920–21 season, [3] and went on to play 134 Football League games. Best remembered for his full-back partnership with Moses Russell – they played more than 180 games together – Forbes made his last appearance for Argyle in 1924 [2] and then went to America to play for Fall River F.C. [1]

Jack is Argyle's most successful and longest-serving manager. During his 29 years in charge, the club won two league championships and established itself in the Second Division of the Football League. Jack also managed Southend for four years. His son, David, scored the first goal at Wembley Stadium.
Kevin Hodges is an English retired football player and manager who played as a midfielder, and now works as assistant manager at Dorchester Town. He spent the majority of his playing career with Plymouth Argyle of the Football League, where he is the club's all-time appearance record holder. He also played for Torquay United and went on to become their manager before returning to Plymouth Argyle as manager. After a period in coaching roles elsewhere, he returned to work for Plymouth Argyle where he is currently responsible for managing the youth team.

Romain Larrieu is a French former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper, most notably in the Football League for Plymouth Argyle. He started his career at Montpellier in 1994. After failing to make an appearance at Montpellier, he moved to Valence in 1998, where he played one match in the French Division 2. He joined Plymouth Argyle in 2000 staying at the club until 2012. During his time at Plymouth Argyle, he amassed almost 300 league appearances and went on loan twice, at Gillingham and Yeovil Town. Larrieu was last registered with semi-professional South West Peninsula League club Camelford in 2014.
