Billy Haddleton (born William John Frederick Haddleton March 20, 1926 - August 10, 1990) [1] was a Canadian football player who played for the Toronto Argonauts. He won the Grey Cup with them in 1947. [2] [3]

The 1999 Toronto Argonauts finished in 3rd place in the East Division of the 1999 CFL season with a 9–9 record and lost the East Division Semi-Finals.

William Leonard Shipp was a professional Canadian football player who played twelve seasons with the Canadian Football League's Montreal Alouettes and the Toronto Argonauts. During those years, he became an eastern conference all-star as an offensive tackle in 1955 and 1959 and as a defensive tackle in 1964. Shipp played all 14 regular season games every year from 1958 to 1962 except 1960 when he missed 5. As a defensive lineman, he intercepted a pass in 1961. He started his pro career in the NFL, playing one season for the New York Giants.

The two-time defending Grey Cup champion Argonauts faced the Winnipeg Blue Bombers for the third time in a row in the Grey Cup game. Toronto won their eighth Grey Cup championship by a score of 10–9 for the first three-peat in franchise history.
