Billy Joe Camp (born c. 1939) was elected Alabama's 48th secretary of state in November 1990 and served from January 1991 until 1993. [1] [2]
A Democrat,he had previously served as a commissioner on the Alabama Public Service Commission and as a gubernatorial press secretary as well as State Development Officer. [3] In 1986 he ran for governor of the state. [4]
Camp is an alumnus of the University of North Alabama.

During his 10 seasons in Oakland,Stabler received four Pro Bowl selections and was named Most Valuable Player in 1974. Stabler also helped the Raiders win their first Super Bowl title in Super Bowl XI. He was posthumously inducted to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2016.
Lucy Mae Bruner Baxley Smith was an American politician who served from 2003 to 2007 as the 28th lieutenant governor of Alabama and from 2009 until 2013 as President of the Alabama Public Service Commission. She was the first woman to hold the state's office of lieutenant governor. In 2006,she was the unsuccessful Democratic nominee for governor. In 2008,Lucy Baxley was elected President of the Alabama Public Service Commission,and was the only Democrat to win statewide that year. Until Democrat Doug Jones's victory over Republican Roy Moore in the 2017 U.S. Senate special election,Baxley had been the most recent Democrat to hold statewide office in Alabama.

Fred Shuttlesworth,pastor of Bethel Baptist Church,served as president of the group from its founding in 1956 until 1969. The ACMHR's crowning moment came during the pivotal Birmingham campaign which it coordinated along with the Southern Christian Leadership Conference during the spring of 1963.

Joseph Sidney Gelders was an American physicist who later became an antiracist,civil rights activist,labor organizer,and communist. In the mid-1930s,he served as the secretary and southern-U.S. representative of the National Committee for the Defense of Political Prisoners. In September 1936,Gelders was kidnapped,beaten,and nearly killed by members of the Ku Klux Klan for his civil rights and labor organizing activities. After his recovery,Gelders continued his activism and cofounded the Southern Conference for Human Welfare and the National Committee to Abolish the Poll Tax. He collaborated closely with other activists including Lucy Randolph Mason and Virginia Foster Durr. Internal injuries sustained during his kidnapping and assault led to Gelders' death on March 1,1950.
