Birds Barbershop is a brand of barbershops founded in Austin, Texas. The first shop was opened in 2006 by Jayson Rapaport and Michael Portman. [1]
Michael Portman left his job at Disney and moved to Austin, Texas where he met Jayson Rapaport who had recently left a career as a Wall Street trader. They created Birds as an alternative to salons and chain hair-cutters.
Each of their nine local shops is built around a large-scale mural painted by a local artist.m. [2]

Doyers Street is a 200-foot-long (61 m) street in the Chinatown neighborhood of Manhattan in New York City. It is one block long with a sharp bend in the middle. The street runs south and then southeast from Pell Street to the intersection of Bowery, Chatham Square, and Division Street. Knockouts and Knockouts Haircuts for Men are the trade names of a privately held American salon chain, Knockouts LLC, based in Irving, Texas. Knockouts are full-service grooming salons with a boxing /sex appeal theme targeting men seeking an alternative to the cut-rate chain salons. The Today Show, The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch (CNBC) and other media have compared Knockouts to Hooters restaurants for the sex appeal/entertainment angle used to engage customers, labeling Knockouts “the Hooters of Haircutting.” The salons have a gym/warehouse-like decor with faux boxing ring posts and ropes and a brick wall helping to define the space, as well as boxing photos and memorabilia on the walls. There are flat-screen televisions at each grooming station and in the waiting area. These are usually tuned to sports programs, but are individually controlled by the customer.

He is most famous for being the eccentric star of the AXS TV show Bikini Barbershop, which first aired February 19, 2012. It is a reality TV show set in his salon, Bikini Barbers, and revolves around the, often dysfunctional, day-to-day life of Wulkan and the girls he employs. Wulkan is also a winemaker. He founded Mile High Wines, an aviation themed wine company inspired by his love of traveling and tasting fine wine from all over the world.

James Albert Markham is an American hair stylist and serial entrepreneur, who has founded four hair care companies– Markham Products, ABBA Pure and Natural, PureOlogy Serious Colour Care, and, most recently, ColorProof Color Care Authority. He was also celebrity stylist Jay Sebring's protege and successor of Sebring International after Sebring was murdered by the Manson Family. Markham is known for advancing the Sebring cutting technique and introduced a generation of men to a new way of cutting and caring for their hair in the early 1970s, which emphasizes cutting hair in the direction it grows, daily washing and conditioning, and blow-drying. By 1973 Markham had improved upon the concept and took it nationwide over the next decade, coining the technique The Markham Method. Under his men's hair care line, Markham Products, he personally trained and certified thousands of barbers and stylists as Markham Style Innovators. The stylist's client list included many notable celebrities including Paul Newman, Steve McQueen, Frank Sinatra, Johnny Carson, Peter Lawford, Wolfman Jack, among many others. The book, Barnes' first picture book, is a poem describing a boy's feelings and experience while getting a haircut. James, who was not the first choice to be the illustrator, wanted the oil color illustrations to have the feel of fine art.
The Shop: Uninterrupted, or simply The Shop, is an American television talk show created by Paul Rivera. It stars professional basketball star LeBron James and businessman Maverick Carter, who alongside guests have conversations and debates in a barbershop. The series premiered on HBO in the United States on August 28, 2018. On February 28, 2022, the series was renewed for a fifth season and moved to YouTube. In 2021, the series won a Sports Emmy for Outstanding Edited Sports Series.
