Bizarre ER is a BBC Three, and later E4, television show that deals with hospital mishaps.
Every episode shows a miraculous survival story and strange facts, like the woman who fell out of a plane at 35,000 ft and survived. Series 2 began airing on 21 April 2009 and consists of ten 30 minute episodes. Series 1 and 2 were filmed at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. [1]
Following the first five episodes, the show's animal counterpart Bizarre Animal ER, narrated by Kevin Bishop, aired for eight episodes on BBC Three in Bizarre ER's Tuesday slot. [2] Bizarre ER returned after for five more episodes.
Bizarre ER returned for a twelve-part third series from 10 May 2010 [3] and finished on 19 July 2010. [4] The series was filmed at the Northampton General Hospital.
The series returned for a ten-part fourth series on 28 March 2011, now narrated by Sheridan Smith. [5] Filming takes place at Northampton General Hospital as well as Bradford Royal Infirmary. The series also features bizarre operations that have happened around the world.
Series 5 is set in the US with John Barrowman as narrator, it started in March 2013 and ended in May 2013. Series 6 is set at several hospitals across the UK; locations include Dudley, Warwick, Basingstoke and the Isle of Wight.
Bizarre ER is now airing in the U.S. on the Discovery Life channel. [6] In Italy, it is broadcast by DMAX. [7]

Doctor Who Confidential is a documentary series created by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) to complement the revival of the long-running British science fiction television series Doctor Who. Each episode was broadcast on BBC Three on Saturdays, immediately after the broadcast of the weekly television episode on BBC One. The first and second series episodes ran 30 minutes each; third series instalments ran 45 minutes. Meerkat Manor is a British television documentary produced by Oxford Scientific Films that premiered in September 2005. Originally broadcast on Animal Planet International for four seasons, until its cancellation in August 2008, the programme had a revival in 2021 with the programme now known as Meerkat Manor: Rise of the Dynasty in some countries. Using traditional animal documentary style footage along with narration, the series told the story of the Whiskers, one of more than a dozen families of meerkats in the Kalahari Desert being studied as part of the Kalahari Meerkat Project, a long-term field study into the ecological causes and evolutionary consequences of the cooperative nature of meerkats. The original programme was narrated by Bill Nighy, with the narration redubbed by Mike Goldman for the Australian airings and Sean Astin for the American broadcasts. The fourth series, subtitled The Next Generation, saw Stockard Channing replacing Astin as the narrator in the American dubbing. In 2021, Nighy could be heard narrating the new series of Meerkat Manor when it was broadcast in the United States on BBC America and on Channel 5 in the United Kingdom, making it the first time that both television markets have used the same voice over on the programme.
