The foreign relations of North Macedonia since its independence in 1991 have been characterized by the country's efforts to gain membership in international organizations such as NATO and the European Union and to gain international recognition under its constitutional name, overshadowed by a long-standing, dead-locked dispute with neighboring Greece. The Uruguay Round Agreements Act is an Act of Congress in the United States that implemented in U.S. law the Marrakesh Agreement of 1994. Katica Ḱulavkova is a Macedonian writer and academic. She has published over forty books, including twenty collections of poetry. Kulavkova is a professor in the philology faculty at the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University of Skopje and a vice president of the literary organization PEN International.
