Bloodpit is a Finnish hard rock band. Before 1998 the band has been named "RIP" and "Turmio". It was founded in 1994 by Matthau Mikojan (Matti Mikkonen), lead singer, and Paavo Pekkonen, guitarist. They released their first album Mental Circus in 2005, along with many singles, such as "Platitude", "Bad-Ass Blues", and "Wise Men Don't Cry". Their second album, Off the Hook was released in 2007. The single "Platitude" is on the soundtrack to the EA Sports game NHL 07 .

Previous band members

Previously bassist for Bloodpit, Matthau's older brother, Sir Christus, left to play guitar in Negative. Of the latter, Antti Anatomy, bassist, appeared in Bloodpit's video "Wise Men Don't Cry" as a vengeful brother, accompanied by Jussi Selo, from Uniklubi, in a similar role. Also, Matthau and his brother are sons of departed Arwo Mikkonen, who has played guitar for the famous band Popeda.

T.S.O.L. American punk rock band

Uniklubi

Uniklubi is a Finnish alternative rock band. It was founded in 1999. The band became well known for its hit Rakkautta ja piikkilankaa in 2004. The band's lyrics are in the Finnish language. All members are from the town of Hämeenkyrö, except the bassist Teemu Rajamäki, who is from Ikaalinen. Originally they called themselves 'Pincenez' but they did not get much positive feedback about it, so they renamed their band 'Uniklubi', a Finnish word that means 'Dream Club'.

Popeda is a Finnish rock band hailing from Tampere and one of the staples of Manserock. Epe Helenius, who signed the band for Poko Rekords in 1977, called the band "Finnish Rolling Stones". Musically their style is a combination of rock 'n' roll, with humorous lyrics by their vocalist Pate Mustajärvi, often concerning girls, cars and drinking.

Big Ass is a Thai rock band. It was originally a pop rock band but the music moved toward hardcore punk in some of the band's recent works. During the band's early years until mid-2012, the band leading vocals was Ekkarat "Dax" Wongchalard. Later half of 2012, Daycha "Jeng" Konalo became the new leading vocals, replacing Ekkarat in EP Dan Neramit, their seventh album released in April 2013. Sir Christus

Sir Christus was a Finnish guitarist, best known as the former rhythm guitarist of the glam rock band Negative. His father was Arwo Mikkonen, guitarist of the Finnish rock band Popeda. His father died in 1986, leaving eight-year-old Christus and his four-year-old brother Matthau, without a father figure in their life.

Mental Circus is the debut album from Bloodpit, a Finnish rock band. It was released on Beemvees/Playground Music in 2005.
