Robert "Bob" Guyette (born August 29, 1953, in Ottawa, Illinois) is an American former professional basketball player, who played five seasons in the Spanish League. [1] At a height of 6' 9", he played at the power forward position. [2] After his playing days, he became an oral and maxillofacial surgeon. [3]

College career

Guyette played for three varsity seasons with the Kentucky Wildcats, where he averaged 9.0 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. [4] He also played on the junior varsity team as a freshman, since at the time, freshmen weren't eligible to play on the varsity squad. In 1975, he played in the NCAA Final against the UCLA Bruins, in which they lost 92–85. Guyette had 16 points and 7 rebounds in that game.

Professional career

Guyette was selected in the 49th position of the 1975 NBA draft, by the Kansas City-Omaha Kings, [1] and also by the New Jersey Nets, in the ABA Draft, [5] but he eventually signed for FC Barcelona of the Spanish League. With Barcelona, he managed to win three Spanish King's Cup titles, in 1978, 1979 and 1980, [6] and he was the top scorer of the King's Cup Final in 1978. He was also the top scorer of the Spanish League competition in 1977, averaging 32.0 points per game. Ultimately, a sciatica injury ended his playing career.

Career after basketball

Guyette returned to the US, and earned a dental degree from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry, followed by a medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine. He is currently running a maxillofacial surgery clinic, in Scottsdale, Arizona. [3]

Erazem Lorbek is a Slovenian former professional basketball player. At a height of 6 ft 10+3⁄4 in (2.10 m) tall, he primarily played at the power forward position, but he was also capable of playing at the center position. A three-time All-EuroLeague Team member, he won the EuroLeague title with FC Barcelona in 2010.

Melvin Joe Daniels was an American professional basketball player. He played in the American Basketball Association (ABA) for the Minnesota Muskies, Indiana Pacers, and Memphis Sounds, and in the National Basketball Association for the New York Nets. Daniels was a two-time ABA Most Valuable Player, three-time ABA Champion and a seven-time ABA All-Star. Daniels was the All-time ABA rebounding leader, and in 1997 was named a unanimous selection to the ABA All-Time Team. Daniels was enshrined into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2012.

Ramsey was also a head coach for the Kentucky Colonels of the ABA during the 1970–1971 season. Ramsey was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 1982.

Charles Verderber is an American former professional basketball player. He played college basketball for the Kentucky Wildcats and was the team's captain during his junior and senior seasons. After graduating, Verderber was drafted by the Chicago Bulls in the seventh round of the 1982 NBA draft, and played one season professionally for Obradoiro CAB in Spain. He later became a dentist.
