Robert Hodges Horne (born 18 December 1939) is a former Australian politician. Born in Newcastle,New South Wales,he attended the University of Newcastle before becoming a teacher. He served on Dungog Shire Council from 1987 to 1990 and Port Stephens Council from 1991 to 1993. In 1993 he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the Labor member for Paterson. He was defeated in 1996 by Liberal candidate Bob Baldwin,but defeated Baldwin in 1998. After his defeat by Baldwin in 2001,Horne retired from politics. [1]
The Division of Paterson is an Australian electoral division in the state of New South Wales. It is located just north of Newcastle,on the coast of the Tasman Sea. The division is named after federation-era poet and author Banjo Paterson and was originally created in 1949 and abolished in 1984. It was recreated after a redistribution in 1992.
Arthur James Beck was an Australian politician. Born in Launceston,Tasmania,he was educated at Launceston Grammar School before becoming a boot importer. He sat on Hobart City Council before undertaking military service 1914–1918. In 1940,he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the United Australia Party member for Denison,defeating sitting Labor MP Gerald Mahoney. He was defeated in 1943 by Labor candidate Frank Gaha. He turned to a business career and returned to Hobart City Council. Beck died in 1965.

Leslie Herbert Irwin,CBE was an Australian politician. Born in Newcastle,New South Wales,he was educated at state schools and underwent military service 1916–30. Upon the end of his service,he became a bank manager. In 1963,he was selected as the Liberal candidate for the seat of Mitchell in the Australian House of Representatives. He was the last person born in the nineteenth century,the last person born before Federation,and the last World War I veteran elected to the House. He held Mitchell until his defeat in 1972. Irwin died in 1985.

Alfred Hugh Beresford Conroy was an Australian politician. Born in Winchelsea,Victoria,he was educated at Hawthorn Grammar School in Melbourne. Becoming a bank clerk and surveyor,he moved to Goulburn in New South Wales in 1883. In 1893 he became a barrister,and he was an alderman on Goulburn Council. In 1901,he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the inaugural member for Werriwa,representing the Free Trade Party. In 1906,he was defeated by Labor candidate David Hall,but in 1913 he was returned to the Parliament,again as the member for Werriwa but this time representing the Commonwealth Liberal Party. He was defeated again in 1914,and retired,dying in 1920.

In 1972,he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the Labor member for Evans,defeating Liberal MP Malcolm Mackay. Mulder held the seat until his defeat in 1975.

Daniel Mulcahy was an Australian politician. Born in Milltown,Ireland,he was educated at Irish Catholic schools and migrated to Australia as a youth. He became a publican in Sydney and served on both Waterloo Council,including several terms as mayor,and Sydney City Council. In 1934,he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the member for Lang,representing the Langite Australian Labor Party (NSW). Mulcahy joined the federal Labor Party when the two parties merged in 1936,but left the ALP for the Australian Labor Party (Non-Communist),another Lang party,in 1940. When this second split was resolved,Mulcahy again joined the federal ALP. He held his seat until his death in Vaucluse in 1953.
