Bollajira Aiyappa is a Kodava social worker, journalist, publisher, editor and actor. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9] [10] [11] [12] [13] [14] He is the president of the Codava Makkada Coota, which promotes Kodava culture and publishes books on Kodagu in English, Hindi, Kannada, and Kodava languages. He was involved in the installation of Squadron Leader Ajjamada Devaiah's statue in Madikeri. [23] [24] [25] [26] [27] [28] As a senior journalist, he won the Pa Gopalakrishna Memorial Award in 2019 for Best Rural Reporting at the Mangalore Press Club, along with Vijay Kotian Padu, on behalf of the Dakshina Kannada District Working Journalists’ Union. [29] [30] He is the author of the book Aat Paat Padipu. [31] He was a member of the Karnataka Kodava Sahitya Akademi. [32] He was the lead actor in the Kodava language movie Nada Peda Asha, which was declared the best regional movie (State Film Awards) in 2021 by the Karnataka State Government.
