Bolu Okupe (born 20 January 1994) [1] is an openly gay Nigerian LGBTQ rights activist, model, [2] and son of former Nigerian presidential aide Doyin Okupe. [3] On 20 January 2021, he came out as a gay man through an Instagram post on his personal account [4] [5] and has faced several backlashes from homophobic Nigerians. [6] [7]
In an interview, he stated that he knew he was gay around the age of 10. He also revealed his plans to have children of his own in the future. [8]

Leite was elected governor at 33 years old, becoming the youngest governor in Brazil. General elections were held in Nigeria on 25 February 2023 to elect the president and vice president and members of the Senate and House of Representatives. Incumbent president Muhammadu Buhari was term-limited and could not seek re-election for a third term. This election was seen as the tightest race since the end of military rule in 1999.
James Chukwueze Obialor, popularly known as WF James Brown, is a Nigerian internet personality, dancer, and cross dresser who was noted in 2018 following a viral video in which he said the phrase "They didn’t caught me" following an arrest by the police. He was arrested alongside 46 others for being allegedly gay and spent a month at the Ikoyi Correctional Facility. The case against them was later dismissed by a court.
The 2023 Nigerian presidential election was held on 25 February 2023 to elect the president and Vice President of Nigeria. Bola Tinubu, the former Governor of Lagos State and nominee of the All Progressives Congress won the election with 36.61% of the vote, just under 8.8 million votes to defeat over runners-up former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Governor of Anambra State Peter Obi. Other federal elections, including elections to the House of Representatives and the Senate, held on the same date while state elections were held on 18 March. The inauguration was held on 29 May 2023.
The 2023 Nigerian elections were held in large part on 25 February and 11 March 2023. The president and vice president were elected on 25 February, with incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari ineligible to run, being term-limited. Additionally, there were also elections on the same day for the Senate and the House of Representatives. On 11 March, twenty-eight gubernatorial elections were held alongside elections to state houses of assembly in all 36 states. Three additional gubernatorial elections will be held later in the year alongside potential rerun elections for regularly scheduled elections annulled from earlier in the year.
