BooClips is a line of digital books for children on the iPad, Android, PC and Mac. Created by software company Castle Builders (IL), BooClips features storylines and characters from movies, TV shows, and the Bible. The first BooClips book was released in April 2011.

About BooClips

The name "BooClips" is a portmanteau of "books" and "clips." The e-books offer synchronized narration and a bookmark feature, and are intended to engage children in reading by using in-book animations with touch capabilities. There is a video clip following each chapter with a review of the chapter's contents. BooClips books are available in several languages, including American Sign Language. BooClips are designed to be a form of "edutainment," a form of education content which utilizes entertainment to attain its learning goals.

Partnerships and Releases

Castle Builders was licensed to 4Kids Entertainment in 2010. [1] However, after 4Kids Entertainment filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2011, Castle Builders ended its relationship with the company. In October 2010, LazyTown entertainment announced a partnership with Castle Builders to produce eight digital books for children. [2] Castle Builders pursued various other corporate partnerships with such entities as DreamWorks Animation [3] , The Kids Bible Company LLC [4] , and Sanrio [5] .

4Kids Entertainment, Inc. was an American licensing company. The company was previously also a film and television production company that produced English-dubbed Japanese anime through its subsidiary 4Kids Productions between 1992 and 2012; it specialized in the acquisition, production and licensing of children's entertainment around the United States. The first anime that 4Kids Productions dubbed was the first eight seasons of Pokémon that originally began airing in first run syndication, and then it later moved to exclusively air on Kids' WB! in the United States. The company is most well known for its range of television licenses, which has included the multibillion-dollar Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh! Japanese anime franchises. They also ran two program blocks: Toonzai on The CW, and 4Kids TV on Fox, both aimed at children. The Adventures of Hello Kitty and Friends is a 3D CGI-animated series featuring Hello Kitty and other characters from the Japanese company Sanrio. It was never actually dubbed in Japanese at all. It was produced from February 2008 onwards by Sanrio Digital and Dream Cortex, and distributed by Sanrio Digital. It consists of 52 episodes and deals with themes of happiness, family and friendship.

Kung Fu Panda is an American martial arts comedy media franchise that originally started in 2008 with the release of the animated film of the same name produced by DreamWorks Animation. Following the adventures of the titular Po Ping, a giant panda who is improbably chosen as the prophesied Dragon Warrior and becomes a master of kung fu, the franchise is set in a fantasy wuxia genre version of ancient China populated by anthropomorphic animals. Although everyone initially doubts him, including Po himself, he proves himself worthy as he strives to fulfill his destiny.
