Boomtown, Inc. was an American gaming company founded in 1988 and was based in Verdi, Nevada and was the headquarters of Boomtown Reno. It was acquired on July 1, 1997, by Hollywood Park, Inc. (now Pinnacle Entertainment) for $188 million. [1]
The company agreed on January 19, 1995, to buy National Gaming for $500 million, to be partly financed by Hospitality Franchise Systems, which had spun off National months earlier. [2] Boomtown cancelled the deal on April 4, 1995, because of shareholder objections. [3]

Boomtown Reno is a hotel and casino located in Verdi, Nevada, just west of the Reno–Sparks metropolitan area. The hotel has 318 guest rooms and suites and the casino has a 39,630 square feet (3,682 m2) gaming area. The property originally began as a truck stop in the mid-1960s serving travelers on Interstate 80 and gradually expanded into a full hotel-casino resort. Boomtown is well known for its Famous Lobster Buffet.

Silverton is a 300-room hotel and casino in Enterprise, Nevada, near the southern end of the Las Vegas Valley. It features a rustic lodge theme and a 65,556 sq ft (6,090.4 m2) casino. It is owned and operated by Ed Roski Jr., and is located three miles south of the Las Vegas Strip. Roski purchased an 80-acre parcel in 1989, and originally planned to build an industrial warehouse on the site, before deciding on a casino instead. In 1993, he partnered with Boomtown, Inc. to build a hotel and casino on 56 acres of the property. Roski built the project through a company of his, with financing from Boomtown, Inc.
Caesars World Inc. was a hotel and casino operator. It began as Lum's Inc., owner of the Lum's chain of restaurants. It shifted into the gaming business with the purchase of Caesars Palace on the Las Vegas Strip in 1969, selling off the restaurants and changing its name. Caesars grew to eight casinos and resorts over the years, until going through a series of ownership changes beginning in 1995, and was ultimately absorbed by Park Place Entertainment in 1999.
