Dragons RFC are one of the four professional rugby union regional teams in Wales. They are owned by the Welsh Rugby Union and play their home games at Rodney Parade, Newport. They play in the United Rugby Championship and the European Rugby Champions Cup/European Rugby Challenge Cup. The region they represent covers an area of southeast Wales including Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Monmouthshire, Newport and Torfaen with a total population approaching 600,000 and they are affiliated with a number of semi-professional and amateur clubs throughout the area, including Pontypool RFC, Caerphilly RFC, Cross Keys RFC, Ebbw Vale RFC and Newport RFC.

Scott Elliot Hamilton is a New Zealand international rugby union player, who plays both on the wing or at fullback; he played two times for the All Blacks in 2006 and has played for the Crusaders in Super Rugby and Canterbury in the NPC. New Zealand's provincial competition. Hamilton moved to Leicester Tigers in 2008 where he played 142 games in 7 seasons winning three Premiership Rugby titles in 2009, 2010 and 2013.
Aled Brew is a former Wales international rugby union player who played as a winger. He made his debut for the Wales national rugby union team against Ireland in the 2007 Six Nations Championship. In his career, as well as playing for Biarritz Olympique and Bath Rugby, he is one of only a handful of players to have played for all four top-level regional teams in Wales.

Kingsley Jones is a Welsh rugby union coach, currently in charge of the Canadian national team. A former Welsh international player, Jones has played and coached at various levels, from playing at the amateur level to the professional level in Wales and England. He since went on to become a professional coach at club and international level.
Thomas Nicholas Youngs is a retired rugby union player who played as a hooker for Leicester Tigers and England. Between 2012–2015 he won 28 caps for England, including selection for the 2015 Rugby World Cup and was selected for the 2013 British & Irish Lions tour to Australia where he played in all three test matches. He played 215 times for Leicester between 2006 and 2021, winning the Premiership Rugby title in 2013, the same season that he was named as the league's Player of the season. He also won the 2011-12 Anglo-Welsh Cup with Leicester. Between 2009 and 2011 Youngs played 55 matches for Nottingham where he converted from centre to hooker.
Richard Thorpe is a retired Premiership, Championship and International rugby union player, and the current Director of Rugby for Chinnor Rugby Club in Thame, Oxfordshire. Richard played as a flanker or No. 8 for London Irish, Leicester Tigers and London Welsh in Premiership Rugby, and represented Canada at the 2015 Rugby World Cup in England. Born in Beckenham, England, he qualified to play internationally for Canada through his Canadian mother. He won 8 caps in 2014 and 2015 before retiring from professional rugby at the end of the 2016 season aged 31.

Samuel James Harrison is an English former rugby union footballer who played 178 games as a scrum-half for Leicester Tigers between 2008 and 2020.
Joshua J. Peters is a Spanish international rugby union player playing for Newcastle Falcons in Premiership Rugby. He has previously played for Coventry and Cambridge and was part of Northampton Saints academy and Blackheath until 2020.
