Bostock is a village and civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 229, reducing slightly to 225 at the 2011 Census. The village is between the towns of Winsford and Northwich.

The River Croco is a small river in Cheshire in England. It starts as lowland field drainage west of Congleton, flows along the south edge of Holmes Chapel, and joins the River Dane at Middlewich. It is about 8 miles (13 km) long.

The France-Hayhurst family lived in Bostock Hall near to Middlewich in Cheshire, England from 1775, until the house was sold to the local council in the 1950s. The family were responsible for a number of developments in the area, including the redevelopment of Bostock Green between 1850 and 1875. The family last appeared in Burke's Landed Gentry in 1972, as 'Carnegie of Bostock House'.

Bostock is a surname which originates from the Cheshire area. Ancient pedigrees claim that a Saxon thane named Osmer is the progenitor, though this is now doubted. Osmer's place of birth is not known but is likely to have been somewhere in Cheshire where he held a number of manors. He is alleged to have had a son named Hugh and a grandson named Richard. The first use of the surname was in the early 13th century with one Gilbert de Bostoc.
