Wymondham is a market town and civil parish in the South Norfolk district of Norfolk, England, 9.5 miles (15.3 km) south-west of Norwich off the A11 road to London. The River Tiffey runs through. The parish, one of the largest in Norfolk, includes rural areas to the north and south of the town, including the hamlets of Suton, Silfield, Spooner Row and Wattlefield. It had a population of 14,405 in 2011, of which 13,587 lived in the town.

Norwich City Council is the city council for the city of Norwich, Norfolk, England. It consists of 39 councillors, elected to represent 13 wards, each with three councillors. It is currently under Labour control and led by Alan Waters. It forms the lower tier of local government in Norwich, responsible for local services such as housing, planning, leisure and tourism.
The 2011 Norwich City Council election took place on 5 May 2011 to elect members of Norwich City Council in England. One third of seats were up for election. This was on the same day as other local elections and the nationwide referendum on the Alternative Vote.

The 2018 Hull City Council election took place on 3 May 2018 to elect members of Hull City Council in England. This was on the same day as other nationwide local elections. Following a review of Ward boundaries by the Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE) the whole council was up for election as the number of councillors was reduced by two and boundaries of all seats redrawn. The Labour party was defending overall control of the council, which they achieved but with a greatly reduced majority.

Following boundary changes, all 39 seats were put up for election, with three councillors being elected per ward using the block vote system. The election saw the Green Party reclaim five seats from the Labour Party, while the Labour Party retained its majority on the council.
