Boxbomb was a rock band based in Central North Carolina. Its members have never changed and include Ryan Gustafson (vocals and guitar), Rob Mcfarlane (guitar), Justin Holder (drums), and Rosean Frank-Alexander (bass). The group formed in the spring of 2003 and has resided in Chapel Hill and Durham since that time. In the summer of 2005, Boxbomb self-released the Golden EP. In 2006 Boxbomb signed to Future Tense Records and began recording their first full length at Warrior Studios in Chapel Hill. After completing the album, the band had to look for a new label, as Future Tense had shut its doors before the album (then unnamed) was ever released. In the fall of 2007, Boxbomb signed to Tragic Hero / East West Records and released My Obsession on February 5, 2008.
My Obsession received moderate to good reviews, including 3.5 out of 4 stars in Alternative Press magazine. In the late summer of 2008 the band began recording a new EP with Matt Tuttle from Telescreen (Telescreen signed to Tragic Hero Records around the same time as the recording). The band plans to release the EP, titled Run Rabbit Run (Tragic Hero Records) in early 2009.
Both Ryan Gustafson and Rob McFarlane have recorded solo material, but neither has released any of it. Both of them also play in a collective known as The Sundowners, which features members of Roman Candle, Max Indian, and The Old Ceremony, as well as singer-songwriter Josh Moore. In The Sundowners, Ryan performs under the name Roscoe Sundowner, and Rob performs as Nightman.
10,000 Maniacs is an American alternative rock band that was founded in 1981. They have released nine studio albums, six EPs and five live albums. They achieved their most significant success between 1987 and 1993, when they released four albums that charted in the top 50 in the US: In My Tribe (1987), Blind Man's Zoo (1989), Our Time in Eden (1992) and the live album MTV Unplugged (1993). After the recording but before the release of MTV Unplugged, original lead singer and main songwriter Natalie Merchant left the band to pursue a solo career. She was replaced by Mary Ramsey, who was the lead singer from 1993 to 2001 and then from 2007 to the present.
Spoon is an American indie rock band from Austin, Texas, formed in 1993. The band is the brainchild of Britt Daniel and Jim Eno (drums) and has seen many lineup changes throughout their history. Alex Fischel and Gerardo Larios are also currently members of the band. Critics have described the band's musical style as indie rock, indie pop, art rock, and experimental rock.
Demolition Plot J-7 is the second extended play by American indie rock band Pavement, released in 1990. The EP was the band's first release on Chicago independent label Drag City, and its first release that was not self-issued. Matchbook Romance was an American emo band from Poughkeepsie, New York and was formed in 1997. They were signed to Epitaph Records. They released two full-length albums and one EP. Their EP, West for Wishing, released in 2003 was their first recorded album during their time on Epitaph; their full-length debut album, Stories and Alibis, was recorded in the same year.
Hidden in Plain View is an American five-piece post-hardcore band from northern New Jersey. They formed in 2000 and originally disbanded in 2007. During this seven-year run, the group released records with four record labels, including two full-length albums and three EPs. Hidden in Plain View played numerous venues, including The Capitol in Shamokin, Pennsylvania, and concert tours such as the Warped Tour and the Drive-Thru Records Invasion Tours in the United States, Europe and Japan. In 2014 they reunited and released an EP entitled Animal via Rise Records.
Gang Green is an American punk rock band originally from Braintree, Massachusetts, United States. Chris Doherty (guitar), Bill Manley (bass) and Mike Dean (drums) started the band in 1980 and broke up in 1983. Doherty reformed Gang Green the following year, and band experienced numerous lineup changes until its dissolution for the second time in 1992. Doherty has been the band's only constant member, and has kept Gang Green active from 2005 onwards. The band was influential in the formation of the East Coast hardcore punk scene, and went on to become one of the forerunners of crossover thrash and speed metal in the late 1980s.

Tragic Hero Records is an independent record label founded in Raleigh, North Carolina in March 2005 to represent the growing metalcore and post-hardcore scene of North Carolina. The label was founded by Tommy LaCombe, David Varnedoe and Jason Ganthner. Alesana was the first band the label signed. Among Tragic Hero's best-known signees are Strawberry Girls and A Skylit Drive, who reached No. 64 on the Billboard 200; Alesana, who later signed with Fearless Records, Letlive, who later signed with Epitaph Records, and He Is Legend, who signed with Tragic Hero after several successful full-lengths on other labels.

Sirens and Sailors is an American metalcore band from Rochester, New York, that formed in 2005. They released two EPs and two albums; their latest release was a single entitled "I'm Not Sorry", which was released on August, 2019. The band was formerly represented by Tragic Hero Records during 2012 as reported by Alternative Press. Sirens and Sailors have shared the stage with numerous national acts including Hundredth, Stray From the Path, My Ticket Home, Escape the Fate, and Ice Nine Kills. Sirens and Sailors was previously managed by Cory Hajde of The Artery Foundation. The band was previously signed to Artery Recordings and Razor & Tie, but has been dropped from any label support. Strawberry Girls is an American rock band from Salinas, California, formed in 2011. The band is currently composed of guitarist Zac Garren, drummer Ben Rosett, and bassist Ian Jennings. All three members are multi-instrumentalists and record producers.
