Boyan Ensemble

The Boyan Ensemble is a touring choir formed from many of the most accomplished voices from the L. Revutsky Cappella of Ukraine. They aim to popularise Ukrainian folk songs and liturgical and classical choral music. [1] Songs of Cossack, Chumak and Sich Riflemen origins are included in their repertoire. [2] They tour Britain almost every year in the autumn. [3]

Shchors is an opera in five acts by the Ukrainian composer Borys Lyatoshynsky. It was written in 1937–1938 to a libretto by Ivan Kocherga and Maksym Rylsky. The main hero, Mykola Shchors, was a military figure originally from Zhytomyr Oblast. The opera was first staged at the Kyiv Opera House on 1 September 1938.
