Braden "Brad" Houston is a Canadian retired ice hockey and golf coach. Houston served as the head coach for Colgate University's ice hockey team for 3 years and its golf program for 28 before retiring in 2005. [1]

The Colgate Raiders are the athletic teams that represent Colgate University. The teams include men and women's basketball, cross country, ice hockey, lacrosse, rowing, soccer, swimming & diving, track and field and tennis. Men's sports include golf and football. Women's sports include field hockey, softball, and volleyball.
John Howard "Howie" Starr was head coach of the Colgate University hockey team for 15 years. He was born on John Street in New London, Connecticut, in 1898. He died November 14, 1989, in Florida. A 40-year member of the Colgate faculty, Howie retired in 1965 when the university's hockey arena was named in his honor. As head coach of hockey for 15 years he won 87, lost 72 and tied four games. He was also Colgate's first swimming coach (1926–33). He was professor of physical education and chairman of the Department of Physical Education and Intramural Athletics, Colgate University, 1926–1965.
Brad Dexter is a Canadian retired professional ice hockey defenceman who has served as an assistant coach with the Colgate Raiders of the ECAC Hockey conference in the NCAA since 2005.
The Colgate Raiders women's ice hockey team is an NCAA Division I ice hockey team that represents Colgate University and play in ECAC Hockey. The Raiders play their home games at Class of 1965 Arena. The Raiders have played in Division I hockey since the 2001–02 season after playing at the NCAA Division III from 1997 to 2001.

Thomas R. Dockrell (1924-2012) was an American ice hockey player and coach for Colgate. Dockrell spent one season as Red Raiders coach before the program was dropped after the 1950–51 season. While the program was reestablished six years later, Dockrell was not retained. Dockrell served in the Army Air Force during World War II and was a member of the US AAU Team that was disqualified from competition at the 1948 Winter Olympics.

Jim Higgins is a retired American ice hockey player and coach. Higgins is most remembered for his time at Princeton, coaching the Tigers for 14 years after spending the preceding decade building a coaching career. While Higgins failed to produce a single winning season during his time as a college head coach he is nevertheless the winningest ice hockey coach at Princeton since World War II (as of 2019). In recognition of his career Higgins was awarded the John "Snooks" Kelly Founders Award in 2013.

Don Vaughan is a Canadian ice hockey retired coach and player. Vaughan had been the head coach at Colgate from 1992 through 2023 and is the programs leader in wins, losses, ties and tenure.
The Colgate Raiders represented Colgate University in ECAC women's ice hockey during the 2017–18 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey season. The season featured Colgate's first ECAC regular season championship, tied with Clarkson, and their first trip to the NCAA Tournament. The Raiders went all the way to the NCAA Championship, losing in overtime to their ECAC rival, Clarkson. In February, the team was ranked first in the nation by both national polls.
