Brainy Studio LLC is a Russian entertainment and independent video game development company, best known for developing the game TurnOn, with which has been won Imagine Cup 2014 in "Games" category [1] held by Microsoft and other partners. The company's headquarters is located in Perm.

History

Brainy Studio was founded in January 2013 by students of Perm National Research Polytechnic University: web-developer Evgenii Romin, programmer Anton Baranov and digital artist Ilya Antonov. In the same year they launched first game WitchCraft on Windows Phone platform, [2] with which placed second at Imagine Cup Russia Finals in Moscow.

In 2014 company joined Unity-developer Alexander Frolov (left in summer of 2015) and marketeer Dmitri Ogorodnikov. In summer studio won in "Games" category of Imagine Cup International Finals with a prototype of the game TurnOn, and got the right to go to the AppCampus acceleration program, organized jointly by Microsoft and Nokia in the Finnish University of Aalto. In February 2015 the company released the first demo episode of TurnOn for Windows Phone. The same year they began Steam Greenlight campaign. [4] Full version will be launched on June 1 [5] 2016 on Xbox One (as a member of ID@Xbox [6] ) and in Steam (got Greenlit 17 April 2015 [7] ).

Wicked Witch Software Australian video game developer

Wicked Witch Software is a video games developer founded in 2001 by managing director Daniel Visser. Originally operating out of Visser's residence working on Game Boy titles, Wicked Witch moved to a small office. Wicked Witch has grown to be one of Australia's best known studios and is currently located in offices in Eastern Melbourne, Australia. The company has worked with many local and international developers and publishers. The senior staff are industry veterans, some who previously worked at Melbourne House and Torus Games. Wicked Witch has released around 50 titles for PC, handheld and mobile platforms and worked on dozens of other projects across most major consoles including Xbox 360, PlayStation 2 and Wii. Wicked Witch also owns a range of original products and game designs for many platforms, including one of the first MMORPG on the Java ME mobile platform.

Alawar is a Russian developer, distributor and publisher of video games for PC, mobile platforms, games consoles and other devices. Its main areas of activity are mid-core games for experienced players, as well as casual downloadable and f2p games for PC, Mac, iOS, Android, PlayStation, Xbox, social networks and other platforms.

Boomzap Entertainment

Boomzap Entertainment is a casual games developer registered in Singapore with a virtual office environment. It was formed in 2005 and has released 50 games to date that are ported on various platforms. Boomzap has developed for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, Nintendo DS, Wii, iOS, and Android. Its games are available on games portals such as Big Fish Games, Yahoo!, WildTangent, GameHouse, Google Play, Amazon, iTunes, Steam and others.

<i>The Pinball Arcade</i>

The Pinball Arcade is a pinball video game developed by FarSight Studios. The game is a simulated collection of real pinball tables licensed by Gottlieb, Alvin G. and Company, and Stern Pinball, a company which also owns the rights of machines from Data East and Sega Pinball. Williams and Bally games are no longer available since June 30, 2018, as FarSight had lost the license to WMS properties, which has since passed to Zen Studios.

<i>Race the Sun</i> (video game)

Race the Sun is an endless running video game developed and published by American indie studio Flippfly and released on August 19, 2013 for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux platforms. In Race the Sun, the player controls a solar-powered spaceship, dodging various objects on the way such as laser beams, other ships and other stationary obstacles, while gathering pick ups that can be used in game, all while the sun slowly sets on the horizon. The game ends either when the player hits an object and the ship gets destroyed, or when the sun sets.

ID@Xbox is a program by Microsoft allowing independent video game developers to self-publish titles for Windows and the Xbox One home video game console.

<i>Blackhole</i> (video game)

Blackhole, stylized as BLACKHOLE, is a puzzle-platform game developed and published by independent Czech company FiolaSoft Studio. The developers worked with Let's Players and YouTubers on the script for the story and for building the characters. It was first released on February 27, 2015 for Microsoft Windows, followed by Linux and OS X on May 11, 2015.

Imperia Online JSC is a Bulgarian game production and publishing company founded by Moni Dochev and Dobroslav Dimitrov. Based in Sofia, Bulgaria, the company originally concentrated primarily on browser-based games with their main title being Imperia Online, but later started developing mobile games as well.

TurnOn is a single player video game developed by Brainy Studio LLC. 1st demo episode was launched on Windows Phone, Xbox One and Steam will get a full version of the game on June 1, 2016. The main character is an alien electrical spark named Turnon, which should return the electricity to the unexpectedly de-energized city. The game has a distinctive visual style and graphics, as well as the original story, became the second big project of Brainy Studio after WitchCraft, creating on Unity3D. In 2014 a prototype of TurnOn became the winner in the "Games" category in the world's largest technology competition, Imagine Cup 2014, held under the auspices Microsoft, and also became a participant of the biggest in the world support program for mobile apps and games developers, AppCampus.

Akane the Kunoichi is an indie platform game by Italian studio Haruneko. It was originally released for the Xbox 360's Xbox Live Indie Games service in 2011 and was later ported as a budget title for the PC Windows, Windows Phone 7 and iPhone / iPad platforms.

<i>Amazing Princess Sarah</i>

Amazing Princess Sarah is an indie platform-adventure video game developed and released by Haruneko for the Xbox 360's Xbox Live Indie Games, the PC Windows, and Windows Phone 7/8 platforms in 2014. On June 17 of 2015, it was announced that the game was selected to become a part of Microsoft's ID@Xbox program.

Universal Windows Platform (UWP) is a computing platform created by Microsoft and first introduced in Windows 10. The purpose of this platform is to help develop universal apps that run on Windows 10, Windows 10 Mobile, Xbox One and HoloLens without the need to be rewritten for each. In video games with online gaming functionality, cross-platform play, crossplay, or cross-play describes the ability of players using different video game hardware to play with each other simultaneously. It is commonly applied to the ability for players using a game on a specific video game console to play alongside a player on a different hardware platform such as another console or a computer. A related concept is cross-save, where the player's progress in a game is stored in separate servers, and can be continued in the game but on a different hardware platform.

<i>Beholder</i> (video game)

Beholder is a Russian video game about life in a totalitarian state. The game was developed by Warm Lamp Games and published by Alawar Entertainment.

<i>The Lost Legends of Redwall</i>

The Lost Legends of Redwall is a series of six episodic indie adventure games for Microsoft Windows, macOS, and Xbox One developed and published by studio Soma Games. They are the first officially licensed video games to be based on the Redwall book series since its introduction in 1986, and began production following a successful Kickstarter campaign for the Minecraft map "AbbeyCraft" in 2013.
