Brandi Shearer (born June 5, 1980) is an American singer-songwriter.
Brandi Shearer was raised on a farm in rural Oregon where she was encouraged by her grandmother to sing and play music. Shearer traveled to Hungary as part of a student exchange program. In Hungary, she was exposed to blues artists. [2] She subsequently dropped out of college and began performing in clubs and bars in Hungary and France.[ citation needed ]
In 1998, Shearer moved to San Francisco and released her debut album, which featured jazz guitarist Ted Savarese. She also played rhythm guitar in Savarese's jazz ensemble Drizzoletto. Shearer released the albums Music of a Saturday Night and Sycamore in 2003 and 2004 respectively. Following their release, Amoeba Records owner David Prinz booked Shearer for a live recording with the jazz group the Robin Nolan Trio in 2005. Various tours and performances followed, including an appearance with Robin Nolan at Austin's SXSW festival. In 2005, Shearer released Rendezvous at the Nightery, her debut recording for Amoeba, backed by the Robin Nolan Trio and David Grisman on mandolin, followed by the release of Close to Dark in 2007. [3] After the Amoeba folded in 2008, Shearer formed Vinyl Tiger Music. Shearer released Love Don't Make You Juliet in 2009.
Her music has been used for film and television, including the television series Dexter , Weeds , True Blood , and Prime Suspect .[ citation needed ]
Stephan Douglas Jenkins is an American singer, guitarist, and the frontman of the alternative rock band Third Eye Blind. He began his musical career in 1992 as part of the short-lived rap duo Puck and Natty, alongside Detroit rapper Herman Anthony Chunn. Following the breakup of the duo, Jenkins and guitarist Kevin Cadogan formed Third Eye Blind in 1993. The band released their eponymous debut studio album in 1997, which went multi-platinum in the United States. Since then, they have released nine more albums: Blue (1999), Out of the Vein (2003), Ursa Major (2009), Dopamine (2015), We Are Drugs (2016), Thanks for Everything(cover album) (2018), Screamer (2019), Our Bande Apart (2021), and Unplugged (2022). As part of Third Eye Blind, Jenkins has received one Billboard Music Award and eight California Music Awards.

The Lovemakers is an electropop/new wave band from Oakland, California. The band was formed in the spring of 2002 by Scott Blonde and Lisa Light who are the two core members. Light and Blonde met in 2002 via Blonde's manager, whom Light was dating at the time. Shortly afterward Light left her boyfriend, and she began dating Blonde and joined his band Applesaucer. They were forced out of the band, reportedly for making out during practice. Afterward they formed their own band naming themselves The Lovemakers after the Japanese sexploitation film The Weird Lovemakers. They joined with Jason Proctor on keyboards to form the initial lineup.

It was released in the United Kingdom on 26 March 2007 as the first international single from the album. The term "Konichiwa Bitches" originates from a sketch with American comedian Dave Chappelle. The song was met with positive reviews, and features a more hip-hop sound than Robyn's previous singles. An accompanying music video premiered in February 2007 and features scenes that are literal representations of the song's lyrics. "Konichiwa Bitches" reached number ninety-eight on the UK Singles Chart and number sixty-seven in Australia. It was featured in the American film R.I.P.D.. "My Yiddishe Momme" is a song written by Jack Yellen and Lew Pollack (music), first recorded by Willie Howard, and was made famous in vaudeville by Belle Baker and by Sophie Tucker, and later by the Barry Sisters. Tucker began singing My Yiddishe Momme in 1925, after the death of her own mother. She later dedicated her autobiography Some of These Days to Yellen, "A grand song writer, and a grander friend". Sophie Tucker made 'Mama' a top 5 U.S. hit in 1928, English on one side and Yiddish on the B-side. Leo Fuld combined both in one track and made it a hit in the rest of the world." It was the signature song of British comedian Issy Bonn.

It was recorded after Ledisi's experience with the writer's block, which she able to overcome it, after finding inspiration by listening on the Buddy Miles's album Them Changes (1970).
