Brandon Tory is an American rapper, songwriter, record producer, software engineer and entrepreneur.

Early life

He was born In the Boston area and raised in Brockton, Massachusetts. He attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst to study electrical engineering. [1] As a kid, Tory dreamed of becoming a hacker and taught himself to code at age 14. [1]

Career

Tory worked as a senior software architect at Apple in Cupertino, but later transitioned to Google to work on artificial intelligence in Los Angeles. [2]

Before moving to California to work on his debut mixtape SHINE, Tory spent several years living in Atlanta where he wrote songs that would later earn him the recognition and mentorship of producer Timbaland.

Recognition

He won first place in the Microsoft and Lenovo Team Up With Timbaland national music competition in 2014, beating out over 6000 contestants. [1] In 2018, after revealing his secret life as both a musician and senior Google engineer in a music video titled Seriously, [3] The Wall Street Journal featured Brandon on the cover of their Business section in an article titled "When Your Day Job Isn’t Enough; A Computer Nerd Who Raps". [2] CNBC featured Brandon in their Young Success section with an article titled “From growing up homeless to coding at Apple and Google — all while rapping for Timbaland”. [1] Forbes featured Brandon in an article titled "Google A.I. Engineer/Rapper Wants Kids To Know It's Cool To Be A Genius". [4]

Brandon Tory has received acclaim for opening up publicly about his dichotomy story of balancing music and technology, and overcoming his related self-doubt. [4]

Canadian rapper and recording artist Tory Lanez has released seven studio albums, Twenty mixtapes, four extended plays (EP), eighty-nine singles and more than eighty music videos. In 2009, Lanez began his career by releasing his debut mixtape, T.L 2 T.O. He received major recognition from the mixtape, Conflicts of My Soul: The 416 Story, released in August 2013, which included guest appearances from Roscoe Dash and Kirko Bangz. Simmie Sims III, known professionally as Buddy, is an American rapper, singer, dancer and actor. Previously on the I Am Other label, he is now signed to Cool Lil Company and RCA Records. He is also a member of the hip-hop supergroup Zoink Gang, with JID, Smino and Guapdad 4000.

Genius is an American digital media company founded on August 27, 2009, by Tom Lehman, Ilan Zechory, and Mahbod Moghadam. Its site of the same name allows users to provide annotations and interpretation to song lyrics, news stories, sources, poetry, and documents.

Love Me Now? is the third studio album by Canadian rapper Tory Lanez. It was released on October 26, 2018, through Mad Love Records and Interscope Records. This is the follow-up release to his second album Memories Don't Die which was released seven months prior. The production on the album was handled by multiple producers including Foreign Teck, OZ, Smash David, Cassius Jay, CashMoneyAP and NES among others. The album also features guest appearances by Chris Brown, 2 Chainz, Meek Mill, Rich the Kid, Lil Baby, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, Trippie Redd, Nav, Gunna and Bryson Tiller among others.

Tory Lester Zellars, better known by his stage name Yung Tory and nickname, Mr. Yaw Yaw, is a Canadian rapper from Mississauga, Ontario. He grew up in Roche court, not Toronto as people say. Tory initially signed to Lil Durk’s record label OTF in 2015, but after gaining recognition in 2018 he signed into a joint venture deal with Timbaland’s Mosley Music Group and Def Jam Recordings a year later. He released his debut album Rastar in early 2019.
