Brenda Namukuta is Ugandan politician, legislator and women representative member of parliament for Kaliro District in the eleventh Parliament of Uganda. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] She is affiliated to the National Resistance Movement (NRM) [2] [6] [7]

Career

Namukuta was the National Resistance Movement (NRM) flag bearer for Kaliro District. [8] [9] [10] She won the 2021 National elections and became the woman representative member of Parliament for Kaliro district. [11] [5] She sits on the parliamentary budget committee in the eleventh Parliament of Uganda [12] Namukuta serves as the treasurer for the Uganda Women Parliamentary Association (UWOPA). [13] She is treasurer of the Parliamentary Caucus of Busoga sub-region region Members of the Parliament of Uganda. [14]

Other works

Namukuta was among the members of the parliamentary budget committee in the eleventh Parliament of Uganda who visited the FUFA headquarters to learn more about the activities FUFA and how the game of football is administered and governed in Uganda. [12] [15] [16] [17]

Namukuta was among the members of parliament from the Busoga region who discussed on the status of roads with in Busoga Sub-region with the Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) team which was led by Executive Director Allen Kagina. [18]

Controversy

Namukuta was not among the NRM members of parliament who allegedly received appreciation money of five million Ugandan shillings for voting Anita Among and Thomas Tayebwa during the 2022 speakership race where Anita Among won the election after the death of Jacob Oulanyah. [19] Cissy Namujju a district woman member of parliament for Lwengo District confirmed that she was among those NRM members of parliament who received the money. [19]

Thomas Tayebwa is a member of the Parliament of Uganda since 2016, and has served as Deputy Speaker of the Parliament since 2022. He was appointed as the Government Chief Whip by Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. Since 2016, he serves as the Member of Parliament for Ruhinda North County in Mitooma District and a member of NRM. He became known for beating a UMEME employee on a leaked video, for which he apologized on 29 August 2020. He served as a member of National Economy Committee and Natural Resources Committee. On 25 March 2022, he was elected by fellow MPs as the Deputy Speaker of Uganda's 11th Parliament, taking over from Among who moved up to be the Speaker of the Parliament, all events following the death of Speaker Jacob Oulanyah.

Rosemary Nyakikongoro is a Ugandan politician. She was an independent women's representative for Sheema District in Uganda's ninth Parliament (2011-2016). In the 2021 general election, she was re-elected as women's representative for Sheema District, this time standing on the National Resistance Movement ticket.

Agnes Taaka also known as Taaka Agnes Wejuli is a Ugandan politician, Social Worker, and legislator. She is the district woman representative of Bugiri District. She served in the ninth, tenth and eleventh Parliament of Uganda as the Member of Parliament. She belongs to the ruling political party, National Resistance Movement. She is the current Woman Member of Parliament of Bugiri District in period (2021-2026) after being declared as winner in the just concluded presidential and parliamentary elections in Uganda.

Hellen Asamo also known as Asamo Hellen Grace is a Ugandan teacher and a representative of people with disabilities for Eastern region who served in the ninth and tenth Parliaments of Uganda. She won the 2021 general elections for her position as the representative of people with disabilities for Eastern region. Hellen is affiliated to the National Resistance Movement political party.

National Unity platform is headed by Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu alias Bobi wine.
