Brendan McManamon (born 1982) is a Gaelic footballer who plays for the St Jude's club and the Dublin county team.
McManamon was on Dublin's winning team for the 2008 O'Byrne Cup which defeated Longford in the final. [1] ' He scored 0-1 in the game which saw Dublin win by 2-12 to 1-14. McManamon has been a Dublin senior panelist for the last three years[ when? ] and has many championship appearances to his name, making the first of these against Louth at Croke Park on 8 June 2008, coming on as a 61st minute sub for his boyhood hero Jason Sherlock. The highlight of McManamon's club career came in October 2009, when he was part of the Naomh Jude senior side who narrowly lost out to Ballyboden St Enda's in their first county final. McManamon scored a point in his first league game in 2010 against Derry at Parnell Park. [2]
McManamon is famous for retiring Meath Gaelic football legend Graham Geraghty, who has been quoted as saying he "could have played on for several more years if it were not for Brendan serving up a dose of reality as to the speed of the modern game".[ citation needed ]
McManamon's brother Kevin is also a Dublin senior footballer.
The Tyrone County Board, or Tyrone GAA, is one of the 32 county boards of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) in Ireland, and is responsible for the administration of Gaelic games in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland.
Alan Brogan is a Gaelic footballer from the St Oliver Plunketts/Eoghan Ruadh club who played for the Dublin county team from 2002 until his retirement in 2015. He can play in the full forward line but usually played centre half forward for Dublin.
Bryan Cullen is an Irish former Gaelic footballer who played as a left wing-forward at senior level for the Dublin county team. Cullen announced his retirement on 9 January 2015. He stated 'I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Dublin managers Tommy Lyons, Pillar Caffrey, Pat Gilroy and Jim Gavin and especially to all the Dublin players past and present that I had the pleasure of sharing the pitch with.'
Conal Keaney is an Irish footballer and hurler who played for Dublin and Ballyboden St Enda's. He was educated in Terenure College.
Tomás 'Mossy' Quinn is an Irish Gaelic footballer from Dublin who plays for the St Vincents club and, formerly, for the Dublin county team.
Ciarán Whelan is a Gaelic footballer who plays for the Raheny club and, formerly, for the Dublin county team. He is right-footed but can kick with both feet and usually plays in midfield. He was a member of the Dublin squad between 1996 and 2009. He never won an all Ireland and is to this day extremely shameful of this fact, and possibly one of the best high-fielders in the country. He now coaches ST Pats Donabate minor team and is known around the league as an aggressive manager who uses foul language at every possible opportunity presented to him
Shay Gibbons was a Republic of Ireland international footballer who played for several League of Ireland clubs in the 1950s, most notably St Patrick's Athletic. He was League of Ireland Top Scorer on three occasions in 1951–52, 1952–53 and 1955–56.
David O'Callaghan is an Irish hurler who plays at right corner forward on the Dublin county team. He is a former dual player having represented the Dublin county football team between 2003 and 2007. O'Callaghan currently plays his club hurling for his home club St Mark's.
Bernard Brogan is a Gaelic footballer from the St Oliver Plunketts/Eoghan Ruadh club who previously played for the Dublin county team. He is originally from the Battery Heights. From a famous footballing family, he is the son of former All-Ireland winning and All Star player Bernard Brogan Snr and is the brother of former Dublin players Alan and Paul. His uncle Jim was also an inter-county footballer for Dublin. Alongside most of his family, Brogan has attended St. Declan's College on Navan Road.
Ross McConnell is an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays for the St Oliver Plunketts/Eoghan Ruadh club and for the senior Dublin county team. McConnell is 6'3" tall
St Jude's is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Templeogue on the southside of Dublin. The club fields teams in all four codes of the Gaelic Athletic Association Gaelic football, Hurling, Camogie and Ladies Football. Teams are fielded from Senior Grade right down to under eight level, the club also run a very popular academy which caters for children from four years of age to seven years of age and is open to all and free of charge.
Ger Brennan is an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays for St Vincents and, formerly, for the Dublin county team.
Barry O'Rorke or "baz" (born 3 March 1989) is an inter-county Gaelic footballer and hurler for Dublin. He plays his club hurling and football with Kilmacud Crokes and has been a member of the senior panel in both codes. He received his secondary education at the Irish medium school Coláiste Eoin in County Dublin. In 2007, O'Rorke received a sports scholarship to University College Dublin (UCD) for his contributions in both Gaelic football and hurling. O'Rorke is a speaker of the Irish language and is noted for saying his Leinster championship speech in the language in June 2007. He is the brother of former Under-21 Dublin hurling player Shane O'Rorke "shaz" and Dublin minor hurling player Oisin O'Rorke "Oiaz".
Philip "Philly" McMahon is a Gaelic footballer who plays for the Ballymun Kickhams club and for the Dublin county team.
Michael Darragh MacAuley is a Gaelic footballer who plays club football for Ballyboden St Enda's and inter-county for Dublin county team from 2010 until 2020. He plays his club football with Ballyboden St Enda's, with whom he won the 2016 All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship. He also won the 2009 Dublin Senior Football Championship, 2015 Dublin Senior Football Championship and 2015 Leinster Senior Football Club championship. MacAuley was the 2013 All Stars Footballer of the Year.
Eoghan O'Gara is a Gaelic footballer who played as a forward at senior level for the Dublin county team. O'Gara attended St. Josephs BNS primary school in Terenure.
Kevin McManamon is a Gaelic footballer from Dublin who plays for the St Jude's club and was a senior member of the Dublin county team since 2010. He retired in December 2021.
