Brett J. Beyer (born 26 July 1966) is an Australian international sailing coach and world champion sailor.
Beyer was born in Sydney, the youngest of three boys. He studied Sport Science at Wollongong University from 1985-1987.
Beyer's first major success as club, state, national and junior world champion in the Cherub class in 1983. He has been honoured as lifelong member with Woollahra Sailing Club on Sydney Harbour. Since 2000 he has been thrice nominated as "Yachtman of the year". In 2007, he was nominated as Master Athlete of the year. In 2014, he won his ninth World Championship. In 2015, he was nominated and won Sports NSW 'Master Athlete of 2014' amongst all sports in NSW.
His knowledge and commitment to the physical and mental requirements of elite competitive sports have held him in good stead for his own racing and ultimately, passing on those skills and knowledge to those aspiring for Olympic medals.
Beyer is known for a high standard of sportsmanship and athleticism, putting in many hours in practice sailing sessions and running innovative coaching programs. Beyer has achieved much success in the World Laser Masters Championship with ten gold medals, two silver and one bronze in the Apprentice and Master divisions since 2001. Brett Beyer has produced and lectured Level 2 and 3 coaching courses with an emphasis on the physiology involved in competitive sailing as well as the complex tactical strategies required for success. Brett has also contributed to ISAF Olympic Solidarity Courses around the world designed to assist developing nations to have sailing exposure.

From 2000 he has spent a considerable part of his time internationally coaching the Olympic elite. Beyer has been working with Singapore Olympic Laser team since 2003 and helped them secure Olympic representation in the Laser and Laser Radial classes for the 2004, 2008, 2012 and 2016 Olympic Games. He is now working freelance with several top sailors with the mission of achieving a medal in 2016 and 2020 Olympics.
These days, Brett is running his independent elite Laser group that is committed to qualifying for the Olympic Games in RIO. (Update.....this has been achieved in 2014). He limits the group to 3 elite sailors that are invited to be full-time participants in his training and racing program. This consists of a 6-month European racing circuit and several months for the Australian and New Zealand circuits. Each sailor bring his own strength and talent to the team. Brett has now competed himself or coached in 36 different countries and all States and Territories around Australia. His wealth of experience and successful coaching background has held him in high demand for high performance sailing across all classes.

Lisa Mathison is a professional cyclist from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, specialising in cross-country mountain bike racing. She started competitive cycling at the age of 13 in 1998 and came to national and international attention in 2002 when she won the U19 cross-country World Championships in Austria. Robert Scheidt is a Brazilian sailor who has won two gold medals, two silver medals and a bronze from five Olympic Games and a Star Sailors League Final. He is one of the most successful sailors at Olympic Games and one of the most successful Brazilian Olympic athletes, being one of only two to earn five medals along with fellow sailor Torben Grael, and only behind the six medals of Rebeca Andrade. He is the only Brazilian sailor to win medals in both dinghy and keelboat classes.

Sean Eadie is a retired professional track cyclist. He lives in Como, New South Wales. He started cycling at 10 and became a professional in 1990. Despite competitive aggression on the track, he is a "gentle giant" off the track. Prior to becoming a full-time cyclist, Eadie was a kindergarten teacher. He was awarded a Diploma of Teaching (Primary) from the Australian Catholic University.

Xu Lijia is a Chinese sailboat racer who won a bronze medal in women's Laser Radial class at the 2008 Summer Olympics and a gold medal in the same event at the 2012 Summer Olympics, where she was the flag bearer for China at the closing ceremony.
Mitchell Jay "Mitch" Booth is a sailor from Australia, who represented his native country for the first time at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona. Booth as helmsman in the Australian Tornado with John Forbes as crew took Bronze. In 1996, Booth made a second appearance this time with crew member Andrew Landenberger the team took the Silver in the Tornado. In 2004, Athens Booth represented the Netherlands as helmsman of the Dutch Tornado. With crew member Herbert Dercksen Booth took 5th place. His final Olympic appearance came during the 2008 Summer Olympics in Qingdao. Now with crew member Pim Nieuwenhuis in the Dutch Tornado, Booth finished 5th.

Peter Burling is a New Zealand sailor. He is the skipper and helmsman for Emirates Team New Zealand for the 2024 America's Cup defense. He was the 2021 America's Cup winning skipper and helmsman, and the 2017 America's Cup winning helmsman of Team New Zealand. Burling won an Olympic gold medal in the 49er class at the 2016 games and silver medals in the 2012 and 2020 Olympics.
Ian Warwick Brown was an Australian sailor and coach who won the bronze medal for competitive sailing in the 1976 Olympics, 470 class. He was the youngest Australian to win an Olympic medal for sailing until 2008 when Elise Rechichi won the Gold medal.

Joseph Koh Seng Leong is a Singaporean former sailor, who specialized in the Laser and 470 classes. He represented Singapore across two editions of the Summer Olympic Games, finishing outside the top twenty-five each in two separate boats, respectively. Outside Olympic career, Koh collected a total of two medals in a continental regatta, spanning the 2006 Asian Games in Doha and the 2007 Southeast Asian Games in Nakhon Ratchasima. Koh trained throughout his sporting career at SAF Yachting Club in Changi, under the tutelage of his personal coach Brett Beyer, a six-time Laser Apprentice Master world champion from Australia.
Lo Man Yi is a Singaporean former sailor, who specialized in the Laser Radial class. She captured the gold medal in her signature boat at the 2005 Southeast Asian Games in Manila, Philippines and eventually represented Singapore at the 2008 Summer Olympics. Lo trained throughout her sporting career for the Singapore Sailing Federation, under the tutelage of her personal coach Brett Beyer, a six-time Laser Apprentice Master world champion from Australia.
