Brett Sontag (born October 29, 1970) is an American professional stock car driver from Joliet, Illinois. He currently drives the #5 Chevrolet Impala at various midwest racetracks including the Grundy County Speedway in Morris, Illinois, the Illiana Motor Speedway in Schererville, Indiana and at select CRA Super Series, ASA Late Model Series, and ASA Midwest Tour events. He previously competed in the American Speed Association National Tour and the NASCAR RE/MAX Challenge Series.
As of 2012, Sontag is tied for most track championships at the Grundy County Speedway with the late Ed Hoffman Sr., each claiming six titles to their name. He is also one of only two drivers to ever win back-to-back-to-back championships at Grundy County.
Sontag won his first championship at the age of 18 in 1988 at the Grundy County Speedway in the Street Stock Division. He captured the Super Late Model Championship in 2001 and 2002 at the Grundy County Speedway. In 2003, he began racing in the American Speed Association National Tour. He competed in twenty-two races between those two years for Terry's Motorsports. He scored eight Top 10 finishes, three Top 5 finishes, and one pole. [3] In 2004, Sontag won the Pat Schuaer Rookie of the Year title. [1] Previous winners include Reed Sorenson, David Stremme, Jimmie Johnson, Johnny Benson and Kenny Wallace.
After the demise of the ASA National Tour, he returned to racing at Illinois short tracks. He won the 2008, 2009 and 2010 super late model championships at the Grundy County Speedway in Morris, IL, winning a combined 23 feature events over those three years. He also won the 2008 and 2009 Lee Schuler Memorial Race at the Grundy County Speedway, and the 2008 and 2009 Bettenhausen Memorial race at the Illiana Motor Speedway. Following the 2009 racing season, Sontag was ranked 17th in Speed 51's National Short Track Power Rankings for that year. [4] He won the 2010 National Short Track Championship race at Rockford Speedway.
Richard Allen Bickle Jr. is an American former professional stock car racing driver. Now retired from NASCAR racing, Bickle, who never completed a full season in the NASCAR Cup Series, had a long history in short track racing. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel described him in 2012 as a "stud on the short tracks in the late 1980s and early '90s and a journeyman who rarely caught a break in NASCAR." He won three NASCAR truck races and had a career-best fourth-place finish in the Cup Series in 218 career NASCAR starts.
The American Speed Association (ASA) is a sanctioning body of motorsports in the United States formed in 1968. The Association was based in Pendleton, Indiana, and later in Daytona Beach, Florida. The ASA sanctioned asphalt and dirt tracks in their ASA Member Track program along with racing series in the United States and Canada.
Chris Wimmer is an American professional stock car racing driver. He has raced mostly in short track competition and as high as the NASCAR Busch Series. Wimmer competed in the ASA Midwest Tour where he finished as high as second in his final season (2013). He has run a more limited schedule of touring events since.
Erik Louis Darnell is an American professional stock car racing driver. He is the grandson of former USAC and NASCAR driver Bay Darnell, who also started three NASCAR races. Darnell formerly drove for Roush Fenway Racing, joining the team in 2005 after being a co-winner on the Discovery Channel program Roush Racing: Driver X, along with David Ragan.
The Madison International Speedway (MIS) is a half-mile paved oval racetrack in the Town of Rutland near Oregon, Wisconsin, United States. With 18-degree banked turns, the track is billed as "The Track of Champions" and "Wisconsin's Fastest Half Mile." The weekly program at the track runs on Friday nights under NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series sanction.

The Illiana Motor Speedway is a closed race track located in Schererville, Indiana, United States and was built in 1947. Located about 35 miles (56 km) from downtown Chicago, Illinois, United States; the Illiana Motor Speedway is the only 1/2 mile paved oval in the Chicago area. It was announced on March 11, 2016 that the track would not open for the 2016 season. The track has been sold to the town of Schererville.

Joe Shear, Sr. was an American stock car racing driver from Clinton, Wisconsin. He won an estimated 350 races in his career, including four of his last five races. Fred Nielsen, Shear's car owner from 1975 to 1984 and 1986 to 1994, said that his team won 250 races and he estimates that Shear won 600 races. He won at least 30 track or touring series championships in his career. Even though he was known as a pavement driver, two of those championships were on the dirt at Freeport, Illinois.
Ryan Mathews is an American stock car racing driver from Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. He was a part-time driver of the No. 75 Ray Hackett Racing Ford in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2009. His career also went through ASA, ARCA, and the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East.
The La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway is a semi-banked asphalt oval racetrack in West Salem, Wisconsin. The outer track is 5/8 mile and the inner track is a 1/4 mile. The speedway has progressive banking in the corners, from 5 degrees on the bottom to 11 degrees on the top. The track was built at the fairgrounds for La Crosse County. It used to host an event on the American Speed Association (ASA) and the ASA Late Model Series before the demise of the series. It currently hosts annual touring events on the ARCA Midwest Tour and Mid American Stock Car Series. It hosts weekly stock car races which are sanctioned by the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series. It was the first NASCAR-sanctioned race track in Wisconsin.
Tim Schendel is an American professional stock car racing driver. A past winner of the Toyota All-Star Showdown and champion of the NASCAR Midwest Tour, he has also competed in the NASCAR Nationwide Series and the ASA Midwest Tour.
Scott Hansen is an American stock car driver from Green Bay, Wisconsin. Now retired, Hansen primarily competed in the American Speed Association. He raced for several years in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and Busch Series.
Gary Wayne St. Amant is an American former stock car racing driver from Columbus, Ohio. While he competed in several NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series races, his career is most notable for his success in the American Speed Association, winning the National Tour in 1998 and 2000. When the ASA folded after the 2004 season, he found success in the Hooters Pro Cup Series, winning the Northern Division Championship in 2007. With St. Amant having won the Snowball Derby and Winchester 400 twice, along with the All American 400 and Snowflake 100 once, he is the only driver in history besides Chase Elliott to have won all four short-track crown jewel events. He also showed his mentorship to a young Jimmie Johnson in his early ASA days, before his transition to NASCAR. Johnson has since mentioned his appreciation for the coaching while making history himself in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.
Tyler Brad Majeski is an American professional stock car racing driver. He competes full-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, driving the No. 98 Ford F-150 for ThorSport Racing, as well as in late model racing. He has also competed in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, ARCA Menards Series, and ARCA Menards Series West in the past.

Andrew "Bubba" Pollard is an American stock car racing driver. He currently competes in super late model racing, driving the No. 26 Ford for his own team, and part-time in the ARCA Menards Series East, driving the No. 17 Ford for DGR-Crosley. He is noted as one of the most successful active super late model drivers, winning the All American 400, Rattler 250, World Crown 300 and the 2014 Southern Super Series championship.
Dave Watson is an American racing driver from Milton, Wisconsin. Watson was the 1977 USAC Stock Car Rookie of the Year. He raced five NASCAR Winston Cup races with one Top 10. Watson won in the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA), Grand American and IMSA.
