Brian Hall (1937-2010), was a male athlete who competed for England.

Athletics career

He represented England in the 3,000m Steeplechase and the 1 mile race at the 1962 British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Perth, Western Australia. [1] [2]

He was a member of the Manchester & District Lads Club Harriers and later formed the Winsford Athletic Club. [3]

Commonwealth Games Multi-sport event involving athletes from the Commonwealth of Nations

The Commonwealth Games is an international multi-sport event involving athletes from the Commonwealth of Nations. The event was first held in 1930, and, with the exception of 1942 and 1946, has taken place every four years since then. The Commonwealth Games were known as the British Empire Games from 1930 to 1950, the British Empire and Commonwealth Games from 1954 to 1966, and British Commonwealth Games from 1970 to 1974. They were held after the 1962 Commonwealth Paraplegic Games for wheelchair athletes.

The 1982 Commonwealth Games were held in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia from 30 September to 9 October 1982. The Opening Ceremony was held at the QEII Stadium, in the Brisbane suburb of Nathan. The QEII Stadium was also the venue which was used for the athletics and archery competitions during the Games. Other events were held at the purpose-built Sleeman Sports Complex in Chandler.
