Brian Schoonveld (born March 8, 1974) is an American Strongman competitor. Brian is best known as a 2-time winner of America's Strongest Man in 2000 & 2001. Brian competed in the 2000, 2001 and 2002 World's Strongest Man competitions but failed to make the finals.

Luke Skaarup Canadian strength athlete

Luke Skaarup is a professional engineer and also a retired professional strongman from Canada who competed actively in the sport of strongman from 2007 to 2015. During his competitive career, he held many records, most notably the Canadian record for heaviest atlas stone ever lifted in competition, the Ontario record for heaviest deadlift (780lbs), and the Ontario Record heaviest dumbbell press (230lbs). He competed in over sixty competitions with his top placings being the 2 x Ontario's Strongest Man Champion, 4th at North America's Strongest Man (2014), and 8th at the World Amateur Strongman Championships (2012).

2016 Worlds Strongest Man

The 2016 World's Strongest Man was the 39th edition of the World's Strongest Man competition. The event was held in Kasane, Botswana, from August 13–20. It was screened on Channel 5. The competition was held in summer, compared to the previous two years which were held in spring. The scoring worked the same as in the prior year but not previous years; in the final event in the heats, the Atlas Stones were awarded double points. The top two from each heat qualified for the grand final.
