History

Bright self-released a cassette before signing deals with two independent labels, Ba Da Bing! Records and Darla Records, and releasing records alternately on both labels. Darla released their 1997 full-length An Albatross Guest House and Bright's 1998 contribution to the Bliss Out series, Blue Christian, while Ba Da Bing! released a self-titled 1996 album, Full Negative or Breaks in 2000, [2] and The Miller Fantasies in 2002, as well as a 2003 compilation called A Music Sampler. [3] Switching to the Strange Attractors label, they released the album Bells Break their Towers in 2005, [4] their latest album to date.

Grifters is an indie rock/alternative rock band based in Memphis who have released albums on Darla Records, Doink, Sonic Noise, Shangri-La Records, and Sub Pop Records. The band released five studio albums from 1992 to 1997. In the years following 1997, the band had breaks in activity with some members pursuing other musical projects and with the band sporadically touring in the years after. However, in recent years they have continued to tour on a consistent basis and have stated interest in recording new material. The band has released and reissued some of their material on Bandcamp.

Richard Youngs is an English musician based in Glasgow since the early 1990s. His catalogue of solo and collaborative work formally begins with Advent, first issued in 1990. He plays many instruments, most commonly choosing the guitar, but he has been known to use other instruments including the shakuhachi, accordion, theremin, dulcimer, a home-made synthesizer and even a motorway bridge. He also released an album which was entirely a cappella.

Landing is an American indie rock band from Connecticut, United States. Terms used to describe the music created by Aaron Snow and Adrienne Snow include ambient, shoegaze, slowcore, and space rock. Past members have included Dick Baldwin and Peter Baumann. The most current line up features Daron Gardner (bass) and John Bent (drums).

Steven R. Smith is an American musician, instrument-builder, and printmaker often associated with the Jewelled Antler collective. Born in Fullerton, California and based in San Francisco and, more recently, Los Angeles, he has been musically active since the mid-1990s. His main instrument is guitar, both acoustic and electric, although other instruments, including the hurdy-gurdy, bouzouki, fretted spike fiddles, and assorted ethnic instruments, have been incorporated into his work.

Mahogany are an electric music-based multidisciplinary media ensemble formed in Michigan in 1995 and currently working in Philadelphia, New York City, Chicago, and other locations. The band's sound combines vocals, cello, massed guitars, pianos, melodicas, sequencers, synthesizers, samplers, tape, percussion, and other instruments. Mahogany also use film, video, animation, cinema, graphic design, photography, typography and other realization and rendering techniques for a cumulative effect that the band refers to as the "Hypercube".

Burnt Hair Records was a record label involved with Michigan's space rock alternative music scene in the 1990s. The label is said to have been most responsible for cultivating the Detroit sound of this period. Burnt Hair recorded artists in various experimental genres also known by appellations such as indie pop, indie rock, ambient music, drone music, dream pop and electronica. The label was founded by Larry Hofmann in Dearborn. Burnt Hair released recordings by artists and bands including Windy & Carl, Hopewell, Mahogany, Ten Second Dynasty, Miss Bliss, Tomorrowland, DELTA WAVES, Starphase 23, Füxa, Auburn Lull, Monaural (Band), Gravity Wax, Asha Vida, Flowchart and Alison's Halo.

Stafrænn Hákon is the stage name used by Icelandic musician Ólafur Josephsson. Ólafur has been making music at his home studio since 1999. Stafrænn has self released 3 albums in Iceland. Later 2 of the albums were re-released on Resonant in the UK and the debut on Secret Eye in the U.S. Stafrænn also released his 4th record on Resonant in 2004. The album "Gummi" was released in June 2007, on Resonant and Nature Bliss. in 2010 Stafrænn's 6th full-length album "Sanitas" was released on Darla Records (US&EU),Happy Prince (ASIA) and Kimi Records in Iceland. Sanitas was well received and did find Stafrænn Hákon experimenting more with pop elements.

port-royal is a Genoa, Italy-based electronica and post-rock band formed in the year 2000 by Attilio Bruzzone and Ettore Di Roberto. Soon after they were joined by Ettore's brother Michele Di Roberto (Drums), Emilio Pozzolini, and Giulio Corona (Bass). The band's music emphasizes instrumentals over lyrics; a style resembling other instrumentally focused bands, such as Mogwai and M83.
