Kovilpatti is an industrial city and special grade municipality in Thoothukudi District in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is the second largest town in the district. As of 2011, the population of town was 95,097 The town was around 49 km2. It has urban area around 95.4 km2 and urban area population 1,70,000 as per 2011 census.
