The British Tomato Growers' Association is an organisation based in West Sussex that represents tomato growers in the UK.
The UK is only 18% self-sufficient in tomatoes. The organisation represents over 90% of tomato growers in the UK (around 850). The British Tomato Season runs from March to October. The Chairman is Nigel Bartle, who is the Manager of Cornerways Nursery in Stoke Ferry, Norfolk. It has the largest tomato-growing glasshouse in the UK.
British Tomato Week takes place in May.

An umbrella organization is an association of institutions who work together formally to coordinate activities and/or pool resources. In this kind of arrangement, it is sometimes responsible, to some degree, for the groups under its care. A growbag is a planter filled with a growing medium and used for growing plants, usually tomatoes or other salad crops. Originally made of plastic, modern bags are also made from jute or fabric. The growing medium is usually based on a soilless organic material such as peat, coir, composted green waste, composted bark or composted wood chips, or a mixture of these. Various nutrients are added, sufficient for one season's growing, so frequently only planting and watering are required of the end-user. Planting is undertaken by first laying the bag flat on the floor or bench of the growing area, then cutting access holes in the uppermost surface, into which the plants are inserted.

A beef tomato or beefsteak tomato is a large tomato. Grown on the plant Solanum lycopersicum, it is one of the largest varieties of cultivated tomatoes, regularly at 20 cm in diameter with some weighing 450 g (1 lb) or more. Most are pink or red with numerous small seed compartments (locules) distributed throughout the fruit, sometimes displaying pronounced ribbing similar to ancient pre-Columbian tomato cultivars. While popular among home growers for beef sandwich toppings and other applications requiring a large tomato such as toppings on large steaks, beefsteaks are not grown commercially as often as other types, since they are not considered as suitable for mechanization as smaller slicing tomatoes. Non-commercially, however, they are the most popularly grown tomato in North America.

Tomberry is a trademarked name for an unusually small cultivar of tomatoes developed by the Dutch company Eminent Seeds and produced by the Netherlands company Littletom BV and distributed in the United Kingdom and continental Europe. The Tomberry is about 0.5 to 1 cm in diameter with an average fruit weight of 1 to 2 grams. The fruits grows on branches containing 300 tomatoes. As of 2021 they were sold in Poland, Turkey, Spain, Canada, Mexico and Israel.
Aminopyralid is a selective herbicide used for control of broadleaf weeds, especially thistles and clovers. It is in the picolinic acid family of herbicides, which also includes clopyralid, picloram, triclopyr, and several less common herbicides. It was first registered for use in 2005, in the USA under the brand name "Milestone" and later under various names starting with "Grazon". In the UK it is sold under the brand names Banish, Forefront, Halcyon, Pharaoh, Pro-Banish, Runway, Synero, and Upfront.

Kumato is a trade name given to a patented cultivar of tomato developed in Spain called Olmeca, which went by experimental number SX 387. Kumato is a standard-size tomato cultivar weighing between 80 and 120 grams. It is firm, with a color ranging from a green to reddish brown or purple, varying in flavor from almost no flavor to sweeter than typical tomatoes due to a higher fructose content. As the Kumato is a hybrid, planted seeds will not necessarily grow plants identical to the parent.
Diver organisations are membership based organisations where the membership is wholly, or at least in large part, underwater divers, and the organisation is intended to further a mutual interest related to underwater diving or the aquatic environment as it affects divers or diving activity.
