Amanda Marie Scarborough is an American sports broadcaster for ESPN and former softball player. Playing college softball at Texas A&M, Scarborough was a two-time NFCA All-American, the 2005 Big 12 Conference Player of the Year, and 2007 Big 12 Pitcher of the Year.
The Indiana State Sycamores football team is the NCAA Division I football program of Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana. They compete in the Missouri Valley Football Conference. The team last played in the NCAA Playoffs in the 2014 NCAA Division I Football Championship. Their first season was 1896. The Sycamore's greatest season was 1983, when coach Dennis Raetz led them to the 2nd round of the 1983 NCAA Division I Football Championship versus the Southern Illinois Salukis and ended the season with a record of 9–4. The Sycamores also appeared in 1984 NCAA Division I Football Championship playoffs. The Indiana State Sycamores play their home games at Memorial Stadium, which seats 12,764.
Jordan Lee Taylor is an American, former collegiate All-American, 3-time professional All-Star right-handed softball pitcher originally from Santa Clarita, California. She played for the Michigan Wolverines softball team from 2008–2011 and Team USA. She was drafted #11 and played from 2011-18 in the National Pro Fastpitch where she is currently the career leader in saves. She is the career Big Ten Conference career leader in strikeouts and also ranks in numerous records for the Wolverines, the conference and in the NCAA Division I.
Gregory A. Lansing is an American college basketball coach. An assistant and head coach at the high school and college levels since 1990, he was most recently the head men's basketball coach at Indiana State University from 2010 to 2021, having twice previously been an assistant coach at Indiana State.
Trent Gaylord Miles is an American football coach and former player. He was most recently the head football coach at Georgia State University, a position he assumed in November 2012 and held until he was fired on November 12, 2016. From 2008 to 2012, Miles was the head coach at his alma mater Indiana State University, from which he holds a bachelor's degree in criminology."
The Georgia Bulldogs softball team represents University of Georgia in NCAA Division I college softball. The team participates in the Southeastern Conference. She played college softball for the Florida Gators from 2016 to 2019 and was named the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year, Honda Sports Award and espnW Player of the Year in 2017. She is the career no hitters (7), strikeouts, strikeout ratio (10.5) and WHIP leader for the Gators. She also ranks in career strikeout ratio for both the Southeastern Conference and the NCAA Division I.
Holly Chase Ward is an American softball player who is currently the Assistant Head Coach at Troy. She attended Haleyville High School in Haleyville, Alabama. She later attended Mississippi State University, where she played pitcher on the Mississippi State Bulldogs softball team. While playing for Mississippi State, Ward threw a perfect game on February 9, 2018; a 10–0 victory in 5 innings over Mississippi Valley State. After graduating from Mississippi State, Ward played professional softball with the Scrap Yard Fast Pitch team in Houston, Texas.
Taran Mackenzie Alvelo is an American softball player for the Chicago Bandits. She attended Bloom-Carroll High School in Carroll, Ohio. She later attended the University of Washington, where she was an All-American pitcher for the Washington Huskies softball team. Alvelo led the Huskies to back-to-back-to-back Women's College World Series appearances in 2017, 2018, and 2019. She represented Puerto Rico at the World Cup of Softball, playing on the Puerto Rico women's national softball team.
Rachel Lauren Garcia is an American, former collegiate four-time All-American softball pitcher and current volunteer assistant head coach for San Diego State. She played for the UCLA Bruins and led the Bruins to the 2019 Women's College World Series championship, where she was named the Most Outstanding Player.
Xeana Kamalani Dung, also known as "Kama Dung", is an American, right-handed softball pitcher and sports model from Waianae, Hawaii. She is a gold medalist and is known as one of the best softball pitchers to come out of the islands of Hawaii. Dung is currently a professional softball player who pitches on the Puerto Rican national softball team and in the Athletes Unlimited Softball league. She has competed in a number of international tournaments and has gained a large following as an international and collegiate athlete. Dung was the former starting pitcher for the Fresno State Bulldogs and California Golden Bears.
Nicole Newman is an American, former collegiate All-American, right-handed batting professional softball pitcher, originally from Madison, Wisconsin. She attended La Follette High School in Madison. She later attended Drake University, and suited up for Drake Bulldogs softball team, where she owns numerous records. She is also the Missouri Valley Conference career leader in no hitters, perfect games, strikeouts and strikeout ratio; the latter also ranking top-10 in all the NCAA Division I. In her senior year, Newman threw five perfect games during the 2019 NCAA Division I softball season to lead Drake softball to a Missouri Valley Conference softball title and a berth in the 2019 NCAA Division I Softball Tournament. After graduating from college, Newman was selected by the Aussie Peppers of National Pro Fastpitch in the third round of the 2019 NPF Draft. Currently she is a part of the Minnesota Golden Gophers softball coaching staff.
The 2018 NCAA Division I softball season, play of college softball in the United States organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division I level, began in February 2018. The season progressed through the regular season, many conference tournaments and championship series, and concluded with the 2018 NCAA Division I Softball Tournament and 2018 Women's College World Series. The Women's College World Series, consisting of the eight remaining teams in the NCAA Tournament and held annually in Oklahoma City at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium, ended on June 4, 2018.
