Brock Franklin Tessman (born 1976) is an American academic and academic administrator. [1] In September 2022 Tessman was appointed the 17th president of Northern Michigan University; he assumed the office in February 2023. [2] [3]

Tessman was born at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. He was raised in Plymouth, a western suburb of Detroit. [4] Tessman later moved to California. [5] He attended Brown University, where he graduated in 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts with honors in international relations. [1] Tessman received a Master of Arts and Doctorate in international affairs and political science at the University of Colorado Boulder in 2001 and 2004, respectively. [1] From 2006 to 2015 he taught at the University of Georgia as an assistant and later associate professor of international affairs. [1] Tessman served as a professor of political science and Dean of the Davidson Honors College at the University of Montana from 2015 to 2018. [2]

Bridget Mary McCormack is an American lawyer, professor, and retired justice. She served on the Michigan Supreme Court from 2013 to 2022, first as an associate justice, and as chief justice from 2019 to 2022. Previously she was a professor at the University of Michigan Law School in Ann Arbor, where she taught criminal law and legal ethics and oversaw the law school's clinical programs as associate dean of clinical affairs. Her academic work focused on practical experience in legal education. McCormack launched and worked in a pediatric advocacy law clinic focusing on children with health problems, and a domestic violence clinic. She retired from the Supreme Court at the end of 2022 and became President and Chief Executive Officer of the American Arbitration Association in February 2023.

John Francis Kelly was an American politician and academic who served four consecutive terms as a state senator from Michigan. He ran for the U.S. House of Representatives twice and was a candidate for the U.S. Senate in 1994. Kelly taught at the university level for more than 30 years at such venerable institutions as Wayne State University, the University of Detroit, and Oakland University. Among other roles, he was a professor of security studies and a scholar in residence at the National Defense University, and a consultant to the United States Water Partnership established by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in 2012. He also served as co-chair of the United States Institute of Peace Niger River Task Force, examining water security questions and conflict mitigation. He served as a professor and as the associate dean at the National Defense University's Africa Center for Strategic Studies until he retired in December 2013.
