Broers or alternatively Die Broers is a South African music group trio made up of Snyman brother Christo, Cobus and Stephan and formed in 2006. Broers (meaning Brothers in Afrikaans) had a big hit with "Huistoe" (meaning Home in Afrikaans) in 2008 for which they won "Best Song of the Year" in the Tempo Awards given annually by Huisgenoot popular Afrikaans magazine in South Africa. Their live DVD Broers Tussen die Sterre (meaning Brothers Between the Stars) was nominated for the category "Best DVD of the Year". The band has its own publishing company SMP (Snyman-musiekproduksies).

Christo en Cobus

Prior to Broers, the older brothers had worked independently as a duo under the name Christo en Cobus starting 1992. [1] The last release as a duo was in 2007 after which they concentrated on the Broers with four studio albums including a gospel album. [2]

Nic Stevens

Meanwhile, the youngest brother Stephan Snyman had been developing a music career on his own using the name Nic Stevens. Stephan is also a multi-instrumentalist playing the piano, guitar and the trumpet. He has three albums to his name including a full album of cover of Bryan Adams songs. [3]

Her third album, Vir eers is dit net ek... was released on 1 September 2011 by HIT Records. In May 2013, Liza won the reality program searching for a replacement actor for the stage production (musical) Liefling. Ghoema Music Awards

The Ghoema Music Awards are presented by the Ghoema Trust to recognize outstanding achievement in the Afrikaans Music Industry. It is the only independent music award ceremony of its genre in South Africa. The event was established in 2012. The ceremony is held in March every year and contenders are judged on performances made in the previous year. The show broadcasts on KykNET.

Juanita du Plessis is an Afrikaans country singer, born on 26 April in Windhoek, Namibia. She became known for her song Ska-Rumba. Du Plessis' singing career began in 1998 with her debut album Juanita. That year she won the CMA awards as best singer, best songwriter and the Association's Award for outstanding achievement.

<i>Faces to the Sun</i> 2016 studio album by Mango Groove

Faces to the Sun is the sixth studio album by South African Afropop band Mango Groove. Released in October 2016, Faces to the Sun is a double album with more than a dozen featured artists. The first disc comprises renditions of major South African pop songs. Lead singer Claire Johnston described the selections as "personal favourites of ours" that are about what it means to be South African. The second disc features eight original songs, plus a remix of Mango Groove's cover of "Durban Road".
