Brooke Niles (also previously known as Brooke Hanson) (born March 11, 1981) is a professional beach volleyball player from the United States. She plays on the FIVB World Tour and Top US Pro Tour. [1] Niles played volleyball at the University of California-Santa Barbara. She is Team Captain of 2012 ksm beach. [2]

Niles and teammate Lauren Fendrick currently sat 3rd in US qualification (Feb. 2012) for the 2012 London Olympics and ranked 10th in the world after their first full season together playing on the FIVB World Tour and the top US Pro tours. In 2011 the team was one of the hottest, winning the U.S. Open, Miami Pro & AVP Championship & NORCECA Cayman Islands.

Niles was a four-year letter winner at UC-Santa Barbara and a third-team All-American in 2002 while ranking third nationally in assists. As an outside hitter, she was named the Big West Freshman of the Year in 1999, and three times was selected to the all-conference team. Niles graduated from UCSB ranked fifth in career digs, sixth in assists, and eighth in aces.

In 2012, Niles became the first professional athlete to offer to brand a permanent tattoo with a corporate partner through a social media auction. [3]

In May 2016, she was named the 2016 AVCA Beach National Coach of the Year for her work with the Florida State Seminoles beach volleyball team. [4] [5]

He is the only player to have won Olympic medals of any color in both the indoor and beach volleyball categories. He played college volleyball for the UCLA Bruins under head coach Al Scates. His college teams won national championships in 1972 and 1974. He is best known for beach volleyball, where he was the game's most dominant player from the mid 1970s through the early 1980s.

Sarah Marie Sponcil is an American volleyball player for the Grand Rapids Rise of the Pro Volleyball Federation, best known for her beach volleyball career. Sarah competed for the USA Volleyball Beach National Team in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. Sarah and partner Kelly Claes tied for 9th in their debut Olympics. At 24 and 25, Sponcil and Claes, respectively, were the youngest beach volleyball team to represent the USA since its inception as an Olympic sport in 1996.

The 2022 UC Santa Barbara Gauchos men's volleyball team represents University of California, Santa Barbara in the 2022 NCAA Division I & II men's volleyball season. The Gauchos, led by fourteenth year head coach Rick McLaughlin, split their home games between Robertson Gymnasium and The Thunderdome. The Gauchos compete as members of the Big West Conference and were picked as one of two teams to finish fourth in the Big West preseason poll.
