Bruce Chambers is an assistant athletic director at Arlington ISD and an American football coach. He most recently served as an assistant to Charlie Strong at the University of Texas at Austin, and was the only member of the coaching staff retained from Mack Brown's staff. Previously he served as coach at David W. Carter High School in Dallas, Texas. After being dismissed from the staff on December 31, 2014, Chambers was hired by Arlington ISD as assistant athletic director. [1]

American football, referred to as football in the United States and Canada and also known as gridiron, is a team sport played by two teams of eleven players on a rectangular field with goalposts at each end. The offense, which is the team with possession of the oval-shaped football, attempts to advance down the field by running with or passing the ball, while the defense, which is the team without possession of the ball, aims to stop the offense's advance and to take control of the ball for themselves. The offense must advance at least ten yards in four downs, or plays; if they fail, they turn over the football to the defense, but if they succeed, they are given a new set of four downs to continue the drive. Points are primarily scored by advancing the ball into the opposing team's end zone for a touchdown or kicking the ball through the opponent's goalposts for a field goal. The team with the most points at the end of a game wins.
Chambers played wide receiver at the University of North Texas under Jerry Moore, Bob Tyler and Corky Nelson. He then became coach at Dallas Carter High School, coaching the freshmen and junior varsity before becoming varsity assistant to Freddie James in 1989. In 1996 Chambers succeeded James as head coach, but chose to leave the school after two seasons for an assistant job at Texas.
A wide receiver, also referred to as wideouts or simply receivers, is an offensive position in American and Canadian football, and is a key player. They get their name because they are split out "wide", farthest away from the rest of the team. Wide receivers are among the fastest players on the field. The wide receiver functions as the pass-catching specialist.

Gerald Hundley Moore is a former American football player and coach. He served as the head football coach at North Texas State University—now the University of North Texas—from 1979 to 1980, at Texas Tech University from 1981 to 1985, and at Appalachian State University from 1989 to 2012, compiling a career college football coaching record of 242–134–2. In his 24 years at Appalachian State, Moore posted a losing season only once. He led his 2005 Mountaineers team to the NCAA Division I-AA Football Championship. This was the first national championship for any college football team in the state of North Carolina. Moore and the Mountaineers repeated as champions in 2006 and 2007, achieving the first "three-peat" in NCAA Division I FCS/I-AA history. Moore was forced out as head coach at the conclusion of the 2012 season. He was selected for inclusion into the Southern Conference Hall of Fame, and College Football Hall of Fame in 2014.
In his first five seasons at Texas, Chambers coached three of the nine 1,000-yard rushers (Ricky Williams, 1998 / Hodges Mitchell, 1999–2000 / Cedric Benson, 2001–02) in school history and became the first position coach since Fred Akers (with Roosevelt Leaks and Earl Campbell in '73 and '74-75, respectively) to have two different backs earn first-team all-conference honors in three consecutive seasons (Williams, 1998 / Mitchell, 1999–2000).
Errick Lynne "Ricky" Williams Jr. is an American former football running back who played 12 seasons in the National Football League (NFL) and one season in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football for the University of Texas, where he was a two-time All-America and won the Heisman Trophy. Williams was drafted by the New Orleans Saints fifth overall in the 1999 NFL Draft and spent three seasons with the team before he was traded to the Miami Dolphins in 2002. He played for the Dolphins for two seasons, and retired for the first time from football in 2004. Due to his suspension from the NFL in 2006, he played for the Toronto Argonauts that year. Williams re-joined the Dolphins in 2007 and played with them until 2010, and spent the 2011 season with the Baltimore Ravens. He was formerly an assistant football coach at the University of the Incarnate Word and is currently a football analyst for ESPN's Longhorn Network. In 2015, Williams was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.
Cedric Myron Benson was an American professional football player who was a running back in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Texas Longhorns and was recognized as a consensus All-American. He was selected by the Chicago Bears with the fourth overall pick in the 2005 NFL Draft and also played for the Cincinnati Bengals and Green Bay Packers.
Fred Akers is a former American football player and coach. He served as head football coach at the University of Wyoming (1975–1976), the University of Texas at Austin (1977–1986), and Purdue University (1987–1990), compiling a career college football record of 108–75–3.
After Chambers transitioned to tight ends coach, he worked with many players who would end up in the NFL from 2003-2014 including: David Thomas, Bo Scaife, Jermichael Finley, and Geoff Swaim.
John David Thomas is a former American football tight end who played in the National Football League. He was drafted by the New England Patriots of the National Football League in the third round of the 2006 NFL Draft, and also played for the New Orleans Saints. He played college football at Texas.
Oliver Edward "Bo" Scaife, III is a former American football tight end. He was originally drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the sixth round of the 2005 NFL Draft. He played college football at Texas.
Jermichael Decorean Finley is a former American football tight end. He was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the third round of the 2008 NFL Draft. With the Packers, he attended the Super Bowl XLV win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, not participating due to injury. He played college football at Texas.
