The West Perth Football Club, nicknamed the Falcons, is an Australian rules football club located in Joondalup, Western Australia. West Perth competes in the West Australian Football League (WAFL) and WAFL Women's (WAFLW) and is the oldest existing Australian rules football club in Western Australia. Originally located at Leederville Oval, the team was relocated in 1994 to Arena Joondalup, a sports complex in the northern suburbs of Perth. The team's club song is "It's a Grand Old Flag" and its traditional rivals are East Perth.
George Michael "Mick" Prendergast was an Australian politician who served as the 28th Premier of Victoria. He was born to Irish emigrant parents in Adelaide, but he grew up in Stawell, Victoria. He was apprenticed as a printer, and worked as a compositor in Ballarat, Sydney and Narrandera before settling in Melbourne in 1887. A member of the Typographical Association, he represented that union at the Melbourne Trades Hall, of which he was President in 1893.

Percy Gerald Stewart was an Australian politician. He was an original member of the Victorian Farmers' Union and long a radical campaigner for farming interests. He helped bring down Stanley Bruce's government in 1929, but died soon after.
John Michael Mullens, was an Australian politician. Born in Ballarat, Victoria, he was educated there at St Patrick's College before becoming a teacher in state schools. Having been active in the local politics of inner western Melbourne as a member of Footscray City Council, in 1937 he was elected to the Victorian Legislative Assembly as the Labor member for Footscray. He remained in the Assembly until 1945. In 1949, he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives for the new seat of Gellibrand, again as a Labor member. In 1955, together with six colleagues, he was expelled from the Labor Party and formed the Australian Labor Party (Anti-Communist). He contested Melbourne in 1955. Although he and all six of his colleagues were defeated in the elections of that year, the party itself became the Democratic Labor Party, which was instrumental in keeping Labor out of power in Canberra for twenty-three years. Mullens died in 1978.
Telmo Ramon Languiller-Tornesi is an Australian politician. He was a Labor Party member of the Victorian Legislative Assembly from 1999 to 2018, representing the electorates of Sunshine (1999–2002), Derrimut (2002–2014) and Tarneit (2014–2018). From December 2014, he was Speaker of the Victorian Legislative Assembly, but was forced to resign in March 2017 for claiming a second house allowance. While entitled to the allowance, it failed the test of public opinion and Languiller was forced to repay the allowance by the Premier. He currently serves as Melbourne Victory FC's director of international relations.

He was a member of the Parliament of Victoria from 1992 until 2018, representing Melbourne North Province in the Legislative Council (1992-1999) and Melton in the Legislative Assembly (1999–2018).
