Brunette Models is a Polish-Cypriot musical project for experimental electronic music and sound sculpture, in the style of ambient music, atmospheric, hesychasm, deep listening music, and is one of a pioneer of this kind of music in Poland, although outside the media and without publicity. Piotr Krzyżanowski

Brunette Models is the alter ego of the artist Piotr Krzyzanowski, who was born (1974) and grew up in Toruń (Poland). He graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy (Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń). [1] He was involved in projects for the Warsaw Electronic Festival (WEF) [4] and Contemporary Electronic Soundscapes (CES). [5] He also was a journalist of the „Estrada i Studio” magazine. [6] Krzyzanowski is active in music production (Agnes de Venice, Xenia Agapene) and the implementation of sound, too. He performed live at the International Ambient Festival in Gorlice, 15 July 2004 [7] [8] [9] and many more. The music of Brunette Models has been played by radio stations. [10] In August 2009 a video-clip by Polish multimedia-artist Joanna Cholascinska was released with a track from the „Apsychastenia” album. [11] Krzyzanowski designed and constructed hardware and software for high-resolution recording (Digital eXtreme Definition) on a 24-bit/352.8 kHz workstation. [12] Krzyzanowski founded the Cypriot label Anadyomene' Secret Records. After 10 years this site was closed by a massive hacker attack. From 2018 April, the web-portal has been made fully working again.

Since 2018, Brunette Models as Ερημίτης Κατώτερος (Eremites Katoteros) alias, creates with Xenia Agapene a musical duet named Πρόβατοφωνή (Provatofoni).

Musical development

A characteristic of Brunette Models music is that it homes in on the dominant tone color, as a fundamental aesthetic value, which is a trait of synesthetes. For the past few years he has not officially published pressed albums. [13] He withdrew from the world and focused on music only, without promotion, A&R, PR and without even connection to the internet. In his artistic manifesto [14] he motivated this asceticism, that today's world looks more at the name of the composer, than at the music. BM thinks it is not a good. In music he sees mysticism as a possible prayer to God, a kind of hesychasm. [15] [16]

Republika was a Polish rock band which began in 1978 in Toruń, Poland. Originally, the band was founded and fronted by Jann Castor under the name Res Publica.. The name took its origin from "Rzecz Pospolita", but under the communist regime at the time the name was censored and not allowed. It has to be noted, that the band name was invented by Kris Caputa (Polish) currently residing in Victoria BC, Canada, who for the last thirty years worked in various fields of applied science, including astronomical instrumentation and numerical electrodynamics. One of the most notable member was the brother of Jann Castor, Zbigniew Ruciński, who was a guitar virtuoso - and it was him, who brought Grzegorz Ciechowski into the whole picture. The original art was created by Ina Koneczna, an artist from Torun, which was later transformed into black and white stripes that became the band's logo. Republika became one of the most original European bands thanks to their specific anti-mainstream rock & roll songs and black-and-white performance motif. Their new wave-inspired music and lyrics, both catchy and poetic, forged a path into the Polish rock pantheon. Republika debuted at a new wave band concert in Torun in November 1981.

<i>SubHuman</i> 2007 studio album by Recoil

SubHuman is the sixth studio album by Recoil. Alan Wilder stated in a September 2006 YouTube greeting that there would be a new album coming in spring or early summer 2007. On 23 April 2007, he released information regarding the album via Myspace and his official website, Shunt. subHuman was released on 9 July 2007 in Europe. It has been released on various formats including standard CD, gatefold vinyl and a special CD/DVD edition which includes stereo, 5.1 surround and exclusive "ambient" mixes. The DVD included all the music videos made at the time of release.

The DA-88 was a digital multitrack recording device introduced by the TASCAM division of the TEAC Corporation in 1993. This modular, digital multitrack device uses tape as the recording medium and could record up to eight tracks simultaneously. It also allowed multiple DA-88 devices to be combined to record 16 or more tracks. The first models in the series recorded at 16-bit resolution. TASCAM later introduced the DA-98HR and DA-78HR, which recorded at 24-bit resolution and sample rates up to 48 kHz and 192 kHz. Audio data was stored in the DTRS format on Hi8 video cassettes, allowing up to 108 minutes of continuous recording on a single tape.

Sebastian Zawadzki is a Polish-born jazz pianist, composer and film composer living in Copenhagen who has been releasing albums since 2014 as well as composing and arranging music for a wide array of media including TV and films. In his works he incorporates elements of classical, electronic and jazz music.
