Thomas Frischknecht is a former Swiss mountain bike and cyclo-cross racer, often called Europe's Elder Statesman of mountain biking, because of his extraordinarily long career at the top level of the sport. A professional since 1990, he was on top of the Mountain Bike World Championship podium for the first time in 1996 and most recently in 2004.
Henrik Djernis is a Danish cyclist. He competed in cyclo-cross, mountain bike and road racing. He was the first man to win the World Mountain Bike Championship three times, which he did in 1992, 1993, and 1994. Djernis won the Danish Cyclocross National Championship ten times in a row from 1989 to 1998 and then won the title twice more in 2000 and 2001.
Roland Liboton is a Belgian former cyclo-cross racer. Liboton won the UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships in 1980, 1982, 1983, and 1984, was the Belgian national champion for ten successive years from 1980 to 1989. He also won the Superprestige in 1985, 1986 and 1988. Liboton also occasionally competed in road races, having ridden in the 1981 Tour de France. He retired from professional competition in 1992.
Richard Marinus Anthonius Groenendaal is a Dutch former professional cyclo-cross cyclist. Groenendaal won the UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships in 2000 and the overall titles in the UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup 1997–1998, 2000–2001 and 2003–2004 and in the Cyclo-cross Superprestige in 1997–1998 and 2000–2001.
Miguel Martinez is a French road cyclist and cross-country mountain biker, who most recently rode for UCI Continental team Amore & Vita–Prodir. He won the gold medal at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia after having finished in third place in the inaugural event at the 1996 Summer Olympics. He also rode in the 2002 Tour de France, finishing 44th. His brother Yannick, father Mariano and uncle Martin were also professional cyclists. He is also the father of racing cyclist Lenny Martinez.
Jérôme Chiotti is a French former professional racing cyclist who competed in road, cyclo-cross and mountain bike disciplines. He is most renowned for his victory in the 1996 World Mountain Bike Championships, a title which he later renounced by admitting doping.
Adri van der Poel is a retired Dutch cyclist. Van der Poel was a professional from 1981 to 2000. His biggest wins included six classics, two stages of the Tour de France and the World Cyclo-Cross Championships in 1996. He also obtained the second place and silver medal in the World Road Championships in 1983 behind Greg LeMond and five second places in the World Cyclo-Cross championships. The Grand Prix Adrie van der Poel is named after him.
Marc Madiot is a French former professional road racing cyclist and double winner of Paris–Roubaix. He also competed in the individual road race event at the 1980 Summer Olympics. Retired from racing in 1994, he is now best known as the directeur sportif of Groupama–FDJ, a UCI WorldTeam. He is also known as the president of the French Ligue National de Cyclisme (LNC). In 1987, he made disparaging remarks about the sport of women's cycling, calling it ugly and unesthetic.
Danny De Bie is a former Belgian professional cyclist and directeur sportif, who won the men's race at the 1989 UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships. His brothers Eddy De Bie and Rudy De Bie also competed professionally.
Dominique Arnould is a French former professional road, cyclo-cross and mountain bike cyclist. As a professional, the greatest wins in Arnould's career were the UCI Cyclo-Cross World Championships in 1993 and a stage win in the 1992 Tour de France. In addition Arnould was the Cyclo-Cross Champion of France five times between 1989 and 2003. He also raced professionally for the Giant mountain bike team, earning several top ten results at world championships in this discipline as well. He retired from professional cycling in 2004 and assumed the position of Directeur Sportif for the French ProTour cycling team Bouygues Télécom, now known as Team TotalEnergies.
Christophe Lavainne is a French former professional bicycle racer. Lavaine was a two time French national cyclo-cross champion, and won a stage in the 1987 Tour de France.
Tim Gould is an English former professional racing cyclist specialising in cyclo-cross and mountain bike racing.
Chantal Daucourt is a Swiss professional cross-country mountain biker of the 1990s and 2000s (decade) as well as a competition ski mountaineer.
Pauline Ferrand-Prévot is a French multi-discipline bicycle racer, who rides for UCI Mountain Bike team Ineos Grenadiers in cross-country cycling. Ferrand-Prévot has also competed in road bicycle racing and cyclo-cross during her career, winning the world title in each discipline. During the 2015 season, aged just 23, she became the first person in the history of cycling to simultaneously hold the World road title, World cyclo-cross title and World cross-country mountain bike title.
Yvon Madiot is a French former racing cyclist. He won the French national road race title in 1986, going on to finish tenth in that year's Tour de France.

Peter Pouly is a French former professional cyclist, who competed professionally in road racing and mountain biking for Pishgaman–Giant and the Singha Infinite Cycling Team. He now works as a directeur sportif for UCI Continental team Roojai Insurance.

Karel Camrda is a Czech former cyclo-cross cyclist. He most notably won the amateur race at the 1988 UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships and a silver medal in the elite race at the 1992 UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships. He was also awarded the Czechoslovak Cyclist of the Year in 1992.
