Bruno Nestor Azerot (born 22 July 1961 in La Trinité, Martinique) is a French politician served as a member of the French National Assembly from 20 June 2012 to 23 April 2018, representing Martinique's 2nd constituency. [1]

Indo-Martiniquais are an ethnic group of Martinique, compromising approximately 10% of the population of the island. The Indo-Martiniquais are descendants of indentured labourers of the nineteenth century from India of primarily Tamil and of other Indian origin. They are primarily most concentrated in the northern communes of Martinique, where the main plantations are located. The Indo-Martiniquais speak Antillean a French-based creole.

Lucien Sainte-Rose is a French athlete who specialises in the 100 and 200 meters. Sainte-Rose was born in Fort-de-France, Martinique, and competed at the 1972 Summer Olympics and 1976 Summer Olympics.

Tennis at the 2016 Summer Olympics – Mens doubles 2016 Olympic tennis tournament

Spain's Marc López and Rafael Nadal defeated Romania's Florin Mergea and Horia Tecău in the final, 6–2, 3–6, 6–4 to win the gold medal in Men's Doubles tennis at the 2016 Summer Olympics. It was Spain's first victory in men's doubles and its first medal in the event since 2000. Romania won its first men's doubles medal. In the bronze medal match, the United States' Steve Johnson and Jack Sock defeated Canada's Daniel Nestor and Vasek Pospisil, 6–2, 6–4. It was the United States' third consecutive medal in the event.

Ivan Dodig and Marcelo Melo were the defending champions, but lost in the semifinals to Feliciano López and Marc López.

Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut were the defending champions, but lost in the semifinals to Jamie Murray and Bruno Soares.

Josette Manin is a French politician on the island of Martinique. She was the last President of the General Council of Martinique, from 31 March 2011 to 31 December 2015, and has been a representative of Martinique's 1st constituency in the National Assembly since 21 June 2017. She was the first woman to be elected President of the General Council and as a deputy for Martinique in the French National Assembly.
