The Bryant Bulldogs men's basketball team represents Bryant University in NCAA Division I men's basketball. The team currently competes in the America East Conference. They are led by head coach Phil Martelli Jr. and play their home games at the Chace Athletic Center.

Bryant University competed in the NAIA as an NAIA independent program from 1963 until 1976 as the Bryant College Indians before the college became a member of the NCAA Division II level in 1977. Bryant's most successful season during the college's tenure in the NAIA came in the 1966–67 season when the team recorded an undefeated regular season, going 22–0 before losing the final two games of the 1966–67 season in the District 32 Tournament. [2] The 22–2 overall record was the team's best during the NAIA years. [2] The 22 wins set a team high win streak that still stands as a school record as of 2012. [2] And the 22 total wins was not eclipsed until the 2003–04 season. [2]

Within a few seasons of transitioning to NCAA Division II, the college became a charter member of the Northeast-10 Conference in 1980. [3]

In 2008, Bryant began the transition to Division I with former Ohio University coach Tim O'Shea. The 2012–13 season marked the first year Bryant was eligible for the postseason, in which they qualified for the 2013 College Basketball Invitational.

O'Shea retired following the 2017–18 season and Jared Grasso was named head coach on April 2, 2018. Grasso orchestrated one of the nation's best turnarounds in his first season in Smithfield, improving the Bulldogs to a 10-win total after inheriting a squad that went 3–28 the prior season. Grasso was named a finalist for the Joe B. Hall Coach of the Year Award, given to the nation's top first-year head coach. The Bulldogs would continue to improve in 2019–20, rising to 15 victories including a win over Fordham in December. Grasso would then lead the Bulldogs to back-to-back Northeast Conference Championship games in 2020-21 and 2021–22, as well as winning the school's first ever NEC regular season championship in 2022. The 2022 NEC Championship game against Wagner resulted in not only Bryant winning their first ever NEC tournament championship, but they also clinched their first appearance in the NCAA Division I Tournament. [4] This was Bryant's last season in the NEC, as the team moved to the America East Conference.

In 2015, Bryant University assistant basketball coach Chris Burns came out as gay, making him the first openly gay coach in Division I men's basketball. [5]

The Bryant Bulldogs are the athletic teams representing Bryant University in Smithfield, Rhode Island. As of July 1, 2022, the Bulldogs compete in most National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I sports as members of the America East Conference (AmEast). The move to the AmEast followed a 14-year tenure in the Northeast Conference (NEC), which it joined in 2008 when it began a transition from NCAA Division II to Division I. Bryant's largest rivalry during its Division II years was Bentley College, both founders of the Northeast-10 Conference (NE-10) and both have prominent business programs. Bryant University athletics started out as a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) before it transitioned into Division II. Bryant competed in the NE-10 from the conference's founding in 1980 until 2008 when the university began the transition to Division I. In 2012, Bryant became a full Division I member.

The Bryant Bulldogs baseball team is the NCAA division 1 varsity intercollegiate baseball team of Bryant University, located in Smithfield, Rhode Island. The program participates a member of the America East Conference. The Bulldogs previously participated as members of the Northeast Conference. It plays at Conaty Park on the northern edge of Bryant's campus. Ryan Klosterman has been the program's head coach since the 2020 season.

The 2012–2013 Bryant Bulldogs men's basketball team represented Bryant University during the 2012–13 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team was led by fifth year head coach Tim O'Shea and played their home games at the Chace Athletic Center. They were members of the Northeast Conference. 2012–13 marked the first year Bryant was eligible to participate in NCAA division I postseason play after a four-year transition period. They finished the season 19–12, 12–6 in NEC play to finish in a three way tie for second place. They were invited to the 2013 College Basketball Invitational where they lost in the first round to Richmond.

The 2015–2016 Bryant Bulldogs men's basketball team represented Bryant University during the 2015–16 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team was led by eighth year head coach Tim O'Shea and played their home games at the Chace Athletic Center. They were members of the Northeast Conference. Jared Keith Grasso is an American basketball coach who currently is the head coach at The Knox School. A former college basketball coach, Grasso was most recently the head coach of the Bryant Bulldogs men's basketball team from 2018 to 2023.

Mary L. Burke is an American basketball coach who served as the head women's basketball coach at Bryant University. She held the position from 1991 until stepping down in 2023. Prior to coaching at Bryant, she served as an assistant coach for four years under Ralph Tomasso at Bryant.

They finished the season 15-7, 10-4 to finish in 2nd place. They defeated Sacred Heart in the semifinals of the NEC tournament before losing in the championship game to Mount St. Mary’s. They received an invitation to the CBI where they lost to Coastal Carolina in the quarterfinals.

The 2021 Northeast Conference men's basketball tournament was the postseason men's basketball tournament for the Northeast Conference for the 2020–21 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The tournament took place March 6 and 9, 2021 and all tournament games were played on home arenas of the higher-seeded school. The tournament winner received the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

The 2021–22 Bryant Bulldogs men's basketball team represented Bryant University in the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Bulldogs, led by fourth-year head coach Jared Grasso, played their home games at the Chace Athletic Center in Smithfield, Rhode Island as members of the Northeast Conference. They finished the season 22–10, 16–2 in NEC play to win the regular season championship. They defeated Central Connecticut, Mount St. Mary's, and Wagner to win the NEC tournament championship. As a result, the Bulldogs received the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament, the school's first-ever trip to the tournament, where they lost to Wright State in the First Four.

Peter Richard Kiss is an American professional basketball player for El Calor de Cancún of the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional. He played college basketball for the Bryant Bulldogs of the Northeast Conference (NEC). He previously played for the Quinnipiac Bobcats and the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. In Kiss' redshirt senior season at Bryant University, he averaged 25.2 points per game leading the NCAA Division I in scoring.

The 2022 Northeast Conference men's basketball tournament was the postseason men's basketball tournament for the Northeast Conference (NEC) for the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The tournament took place on four dates between February 28 and March 8, 2022, with each game hosted by the higher-seeded school. The tournament winner, the Bryant Bulldogs, received the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament, the first for the Bulldogs. This was also Bryant's final season in the NEC, as the school joined the America East Conference that July.

The championship game would determine the team that earned the conference's automatic bid to the 2022 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament.

The 2022–23 Bryant Bulldogs men's basketball team represented Bryant University in the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Bulldogs, led by fifth-year head coach Jared Grasso, played their home games at the Chace Athletic Center in Smithfield, Rhode Island as members of the America East Conference. They finished the season 17-13, 8-8 in America East Play for a three-way-tie for 4th place. They lost in the quarterfinals of the America East Tournament to New Hampshire.
